## What's Changed ## New Features - **Lyrics.** Tap the quote button in the player to read along. When your music has timed lyrics, the line being sung lights up and follows the song, and tapping a line jumps straight to it. - **Play next.** Long-press an album, artist or song and choose Play next to hear it right after the current song, instead of at the end of the queue. - **Even out the volume.** Loud albums no longer blast after quiet ones. Turn it on in Settings > Sound and downloads, and choose Track (best for shuffle) or Album (keeps each album's own quiet and loud moments). ## Bug Fixes Lyrics and volume evening need the PearTune server on your library to be updated too. Until it is, those features simply won't appear.

New Features - Audiobooks. PearTune now plays audiobooks: m4b and m4a files, or books split into mp3 parts. In the dashboard, tick "Audiobooks" next to a folder and those books get their own Books section, with covers. - Pick up where you left off. Books remember your place, even near the very end, and a "Continue listening" row takes you straight back. Everyone in your library keeps their own place. - Chapters. Jump to the next or previous chapter, or choose one from a list. The current chapter shows under the controls. - Playback speed. Listen to books anywhere from 0.8x to 2x. Music always plays at normal speed. - Bookmarks. Save a spot in a book with an optional note. Jump back to it from the player or the book's page. - End-of-chapter sleep timer. The sleep timer can stop playback when the current chapter ends. Improvements - Books replace Songs. The Library now shows Genres, Artists, Albums and Books. You can still find individual songs through search, albums and genres. - Skip sizes. While a book plays, skip back 15 seconds or forward30. The lock screen follows suit, and music stays at 15 either way. - Lock screen matches the app. Lock-screen and headphone skips now move 15 seconds, the same as the buttons in the app. Before, they moved 10. - Player layout. The back and forward buttons now sit at opposite ends of the player's second row. - Long times. Times over an hour now show hours, e.g. 9:43:41. - No shuffle for books. Books no longer offer Shuffle, since their parts only make sense in order. - Scan summary. The dashboard's scan summary now counts your audiobooks.

## What's Changed New Features - Owners can now limit each person to certain folders of the library. If you are limited, only that music appears - in browsing, in search and in playback. - If your access to a library is taken away, the app now says so plainly instead of looking like the library is offline. Improvements - Skipping or scrubbing a track no longer keeps the library sending music you have already skipped past, so it uses less mobile data. - If you asked several libraries for the same song, answering it in one now clears it from the others instead of leaving it pending forever. - Renaming someone from the library dashboard no longer overwrites the name their own device chose. - Moving a device to a different person now reaches that device straight away, without waiting for it to reconnect. - The app now only opens ordinary web, email and payment links, and asks for the camera and nothing else. Bug Fixes - When restoring your last listening session does not work, the app now tells you instead of quietly doing nothing.

New Features - Like the song you're listening to straight from the player. The heart is on the player itself now, in both looks. Improvements - The albums grid keeps loading as you scroll. No more "Load more" button. - Uses less memory while playing. The app now fetches music a little at a time instead of pulling a whole song ahead. Bug Fixes - Music now pauses when your Bluetooth car or headset disconnects, or when you unplug wired headphones, instead of sometimes carrying on through the phone's speaker. - Your queue no longer disappears after a pause. If the connection to your library drops while the phone is locked, the queue is kept and comes back as soon as the library is reachable again. - Tapping Shuffle on an artist now really shuffles from the first song, so the list no longer runs out after a few tracks. - WMA files from a Jellyfin library now play, the same as from a folder library. (Needs the updated library host.) - On a Mac, "Update now" works again. Note for Mac users already on 1.0.2 or 1.0.3: install this version by hand once, and updates will apply themselves from then on.

## What's Changed Improvements - The on/off controls in Settings are now proper switches. You can see what is on at a glance from the position, instead of reading a word. - Those switches now tell screen readers which setting they control, rather than just saying "on" or "off". - On iPhone and iPad, the request to use your local network now explains why PearTune is asking. It connects straight to your library across your wifi instead of taking the long way round. Fixes - Songs in .ogg format now play on iPhone and iPad. Before, they appeared in your library and tapping one left the player sitting there in silence, with nothing to explain why. - A library served from a Mac can now play formats your phone does not understand, such as .wma and .ogg. Those tracks used to be silent. There is nothing extra to install - it is built in now. - The "Recently added row" switch in Settings now gives the same small buzz as the other switches when you tap it.

Improvements - Songs from Jellyfin and Subsonic libraries start playing sooner. - If the person running a library switches where their music comes from, the app now tells you and reloads on its own. Before, it showed an error screen and needed a full restart.

New - Play your music on the Google and Home Assistant speakers around your home. - Songs in .wma and .aiff formats now play, streamed or downloaded for offline. Improvements - Song lengths show right away when listening away from home. - Jumping around inside a song now works when listening away from home. - Download is easier to reach: long-press any album or track, anywhere in the app. - Clearer messages when a library cannot be reached or read, instead of it just looking empty. Fixes - Playback that hits a bad patch of network picks itself back up instead of stopping. - Music no longer goes silent when the next song starts while the app is in the background. - The lock screen play button no longer ends a speaker cast by accident. - Leaving speaker casting hands playback back to the phone properly, and speakers that cannot be reached stay out of the list.
