Small fixes and improvements. Compression still happens entirely on your iPhone. No account, no uploads, no watermark.

On iOS 26 and later, a paid plan now keeps compression going after you leave Shrink or lock your iPhone, and its progress shows on the Lock Screen. On the free plan and on earlier versions of iOS it still pauses shortly after you leave, and tapping Resume now restarts the video it was working on. Shrink now remembers your default quality. Choose Space Saver, Balanced or High Quality in Settings, or during setup on a new install, and every new compression uses it. Shrink now sends usage statistics, and the app's privacy wording says so. Your videos never leave this phone, and neither do their names or where they were filmed. Shrink does send which screens you open and which buttons you tap, so we can see where the app gets in the way. None of it is linked to you, and the privacy policy lists everything the app sends. Shrink now also asks whether it may share your device's advertising identifier with Meta, so we can see which of our Facebook and Instagram ads bring people to the app. Saying no changes nothing in the app. Compression still happens entirely on your iPhone. The introduction on first launch now shows what it used to describe, and it speaks your language. • The three cards are drawn rather than written: where the work happens, what each quality level does to the same clip, and what becomes of an original, step by step. • They now appear in all 37 languages. Shrink now speaks 37 languages and regions, with Arabic and Hebrew fully mirrored. • Videos stored in iCloud are downloaded first, with progress you can watch and cancel. A stalled download no longer holds up the batch — it reports what went wrong and the rest carries on. • Cancel now stops the video that is compressing, not only the ones queued behind it. • A short introduction on first launch, covering the three things people ask first: what leaves your phone, which quality to pick, and where an original goes if you replace it. • The summary at the end shows how much smaller your compressed copies actually came out, measured from the files that were written rather than predicted. • Settings has a Language row, so Shrink can run in a language other than the one your iPhone uses.
