Meet new cards first A new card is now shown in full first: the character, its reading, meaning and an example. It's asked a couple of cards later. Up to 8 new cards a day; change the limit in Settings, or tap “8 more new” when you're all caught up. Gentle comeback Missed a few days? The cards that piled up come back in small portions, not all at once. Reminders Once a day, at the time you choose, and only when cards are due and you haven't studied yet, on this device or another. The reminder shows today's count and your streak. Widgets On the Lock Screen: cards left today, your streak and a word of the day. On the Home Screen: today's count and a quick quiz. Pick the translation without opening the app. Words from the camera (beta) Point the camera at a textbook, menu or sign, or pick a photo from your library. The app finds the characters and splits the text into words, and the ones you tick go to your Dictionary with pinyin and a translation. Recognition runs on the device, offline. Also: rate the app or send us feedback right from Settings.

What's new in this version: - Step-by-step handwriting. You no longer have to write a new word from memory right away: first you watch each stroke being drawn, then trace it with a guide, copy it from a model, and only then write it yourself. Your hand learns the stroke order, and you spend less effort on mistakes. - Blank copybooks. Clean 田字格 cells with no model: pick from 1 to 30 lines and write anything you like with Apple Pencil on iPad. Ran out of room? Add lines, and what you wrote stays put. - Statistics. Tap the streak card on Home to see when you study, how you grade cards, which characters are hardest and which come easy, and how your dictionary grows. A week, a month or three months. - Shared stories on iPhone and iPad. Watch them on one device and they're marked on the other, answers included. The weekly review shows the same numbers everywhere. - iPhone Duo support: the app fits both the outer screen and the unfolded one. - Bug fixes and stability improvements.
