Import of pixel designs updated to support new release of Color Hints Mosaic. QuiltSandwich imports the design from CH Mosaic. It creates a Pattern for the Pixel Quilt, and for the layers of the quilt sandwich and each fabric color, it calculates yardage needed with a cutting diagram for each.

Thanks for the feedback! Quilters reported having to frequently adjust allowance defaults because they were just too generous. This was a problem particularly for binding, batting and backing calculations. The defaults for Fabric Shrinking & Squaring-Up and Overhang have been adjusted to better fit what quilters prefer, which means the amount of scrap (extra fabric purchased!) has been reduced. Minor problems with Notions’ Triangle Calculator fixed.

Pixel Quilts!   Turn photos into pixel quilt designs using QuiltSandwich and the CH Mosaic app by Jim Calvin. CH Mosaic pixelizes images into squares or half-triangles and lets you set the number of colors that you will translate into fabric. When you share the pixel design with QuiltSandwich, define the size of your pieces and the size of patchwork blocks for easy assembly. QuiltSandwich generates diagrams for the blocks, calculates yardage and creates cutting diagrams for pieces by color. Check out the video on the QuiltSandwich web site to get started!

Improve the binding calculator and binding cutting diagram to more clearly illustrate assembly. Especially helpful for a unique binding front width.

Bug fix - fixes a problem with sharing archive files with AirDrop in previous version. Other recent changes: *** New Features *** • Sashing added to Calculator. • Patterns can now be downloaded — including free patterns from the web site. • Delete quilt includes tap to choose whether fabrics should be removed, left or yardage adjusted. • AirDrop added for file sharing. • All the PDFs for a quilt can be built as a single PDF that can be shared using AirDrop, viewed in iBooks or emailed. • Shopping List under Notions now lists only the fabrics that are short and pieces with no fabrics. The original Shopping List was renamed ‘ Fabric Checklist'. *** Improvements *** • Updated for iOS 9. • Calculator enhanced to make piece selection simpler — spin a wheel to find the right piece shape and description. • Entering fractions into the calculator is now easier with steppers instead of sliders. • Default allowance for shrinkage / squaring up was changed to 2" on a side (was 10%)  Especially helpful for backing calculations. • New Notions & Tools Section combines into one section the Shopping List and Tools. • Various improvements suggested by quilters to make QuiltSandwich even easier to use — Thank you to all who gave suggestions!!
