This is a small update, fixing an issue that arose after macOS 26 was released.

This update has some small and subtle changes scattered throughout the app, as well as a few larger items. Some of the notable changes are: * The default draw styles have been updated to reflect all of the changes on the servers over the past little while. * The Weather Routing tool allows for more flexibility in its GRIB display modes, so, for example, you can view Simulated Radar while evaluating a generated route. * The Weather Routing solver has an additional advanced mode to control the time step, where you specify the minimum and maximum step allowed, and the solver makes adjustments according to the results it is seeing. This should be of use to sailors in constrained waters. * GPX import has improved in various ways. For example, when importing a route via a GPX file, you now have the option of changing the route into a Weather Routing boundary or constraint sequence. * There is now support for route decimation (point reduction) which can be useful if exporting a Weather Route to a device which can not handle too many points. * Polar file export is now supported. There are two large changes in this release, one related to weather routing, for sailors, and the other for users who interact with the app using a mouse. • The weather router now supports the concept of heaving to. This will help sailors consider the option of sailing what may be a long way out of their way to avoid bad weather, or to heave to and resume sailing when the conditions improve. • People who use the app with a mouse will find that it is now easier to navigate around the map, and that tool interactions have changed slightly. Clicking and dragging with a mouse, on empty space, allows you to pan, the scroll wheel zooms around the cursor. Tool context menus are availble through a "right click" or "double click". In addition to these changes, there are also improvements in the meteograms, weather routing feedback in the timeline, along with other improvements. This is a large update to the Weather Routing system, along with subtle improvements in a variety of other areas. This update introduces the worlds first isochronal Weather Routing solver which is able to respect intermediate constraint points. A constraint point is a point which a route must leave to port or starboard. Constraint points are needed to describe short routes which have crossings, as well as to express your preference on a long open ocean passage to stay to a given side of a strategic point. A simple example of a short route that needs this ability is a route which goes around an island, returning to the start point. These routes can now be described in LuckGrib, and optimized Weather Routing solutions found for them. When Weather Routing was introduced to LuckGrib in early 2020 it offered industry leading performance, industry leading visualization tools and was creating some of the most competitive routes available. With this new ability to describe constrained routes to its isochronal solver, LuckGrib continues to lead the industry in innovation. Other updates are: • improved the quality of optimized routes when the start and/or end points are close to land • added two new WR ensemble variations that help answer the questions: how far can I fall off the wind and still arrive at a reasonable time? or, how hard do I need to push the boat to arrive at a reasonable time? • reduced the amount of memory used when creating multiple WR solutions • improved the upwind / downwind analysis image to show reaching angles • added support for the new CFS weather model, which provides seasonal length weather data, useful when running Weather Routing experiments in the pre-planning phase for a long passage Please read the release notes for more details.

This update contains a number of fixes and enhancements. Some of the more notable improvements are: * improvements to the base map display. A land height texture has been added, along with lines indicating major highways and, in the USA, county boundaries. * improvements to weather routing isochrone generation for slow boats, such as rowboats or slower cruising boats. Also, the isochrones generated are now slightly more dense in most situations. * a number of improvements to the import and export of GPX files.

This fixes a problem in the weather routing solver, when calculating boundary line intersections, that was introduced in the previous version. Oops. This would all be so much easier if the world was flat. Although a flat world would cause problems for sailors and aviators... Overall, a round world is a good thing, and with this fix, boundary lines that cross the dateline should work as expected.

This is a small update. Among the changes in this release are: • improved the RTOFS water temperature color image to add a sharp 0° C line. • fixed a weather routing boundary line problem, to handle a case when a line segment was on the "opposite side of the world." • a few small tweaks to the apps appearance, to account for changes in BigSur.

This is a small release, with a few minor changes and fixes. • fixed a defect where the weather routing download sailing angle limit was always interpreted as being true degrees. • enhanced the weather routing polar import method to allow comma as the decimal symbol. • provided support for upcoming HRRR model enhancements (smoke, sub-hourly wind data.) • a fix for a problem when scroll bars were always being shown, the GRIB color legend may have overlapped them. • a couple small changes to improve the app appearance on BigSur.

This update contains a number of small changes. Three notable changes are: • there is a new GRIB color legend, which shows the correspondence between weather values and their corresponding colors. The color legend can be turned on and off in the Draw Styles editor. • the routing.luckgrib.com web site can now be downloaded and viewed directly within LuckGrib. This allows all of the content to be viewed while sailing offshore. You are also able to search the content of the routing.luckgrib.com site, making it easier to find pages discussing topics of interest. Tap the routing.luckgrib.com button in the weather routing pane to access this functionality. • the color map used to indicate wind intensity has been slightly modified. There are now subtle sharp edges in the color map to indicate the transition from light breeze, gale, storm and hurricane force winds. There are a number of other small and subtle improvements.

This is a minor update, fixing the parsing of the app receipt for an unusual case.

This update contains a number of fixes and enhancements. Some of the more notable improvements are: • a simplified collection of weather routing settings for each vessel. • the meteogram views now automatically scroll their content so that the current GRIB time is always visible. • when working with ocean wave data, if the data contains a wave period parameter, the wave length is calculated and shown. This calculation assumes the wave is in deep water. • fixed a crash encountered when importing compact offshore email from UUPlus. The release notes contain a few other small details.

This is a major upgrade, for sailors, with the introduction of Weather Routing. Weather Routing is available as an in-app purchase. For more detail, see routing.luckgrib.com Along with the introduction of weather routing, there are also a few other changes, including: • adds support for the National Blend of Models (NBM) standard deviation values. • fixes a problem when using the measure line tool on very short lines. • added support for a new weather model, the full GEFS wind model. This allows you to download all 20 members from the ensemble, resulting in up to 22 different wind and sea level pressure fields. This can be used when studying weather model uncertainty, either on its own or in combination with weather routing. • allow compact file downloads, using the direct download method that is useful with slow cell phones, to have a maximum size of 1 MB (from 500KB.) Oops. The app was crashing when launched on macOS Catalina.   This release fixes that problem, along with a couple of other small things.

This version adds support for the Iridium GO! The GO! is used to access the Iridium global satellite network, enabling LuckGrib to download weather data anywhere in the world. For more information, See offshore.luckgrib.com

The improvements in this update are mainly in the area of Offshore communications. This includes: • support for directly downloading data via satellite phone using the Global Marine Networks Optimizer • added support for the email services: UUPlus and SailMail • improved support for the XGate email service There are also some workflow improvements. This update contains a couple of small fixes and improvements. Offshore GRIB requests are a little easier to create with an improved automatic resolution mode. Also, ensemble weather data display is improved in the meteograms. There are a few more small things which most people will never notice, but still, they make the app a little better, and that's a good thing.

This release introduces a new weather file service: LuckGrib Offshore Data. Using the Offshore Data weather service, offshore sailors are able to request their data through email or via a slow internet method. The email service can be used by sailors, and anybody else operating in a remote setting who has access to email through a satellite phone or HF radio. The slow internet service can be used by people operating over slow internet connections such as 3G cell phone or some satellite provided wifi setups (you can test your setup using the 14-day free trial.) The Offshore Data service delivers its data in a new Offshore Compact file format, which achieves the best file compression for weather data in the industry. Smaller files leads to faster downloads, and many other benefits. See offshore.luckgrib.com for more details. A second big improvement is support for ensemble standard deviation and control member information. Ensemble models are the preferred way to study long range forecasts. Sailors doing departure planning, or other people studying long range forecasts should check this out. One last example of a new feature is the ability to show airports, with over 10,000 airports being added. Look in the Preferences area to control which labels are shown. In addition to these new features, there are assorted improvements across the application, in a variety of areas.
