This update is all about improving search: • Begin your search with “. ”, [period][space], to search only within the current item and its contents. • Type “@MyPageTitle” to find all notes linking to the note “My Page Title”. • Type “2021-12-06” to find all notes for that day. • Press Cmd-J/Cmd-K to select the next/previous search result. • Type “#mytag” to find all notes with that tag (just as a reminder, that one already worked before). This update also includes a number of smaller usability improvements: • You asked for it: The menu items File > New > “New Note/Folder Above” and “New Note/Folder Inside At Top” are back! • Cmd-L while the cursor is already in the location bar now selects all text. • Clicking into the location bar shows search tips. • No more “beep” sound after pressing Enter to open an entry from the calendar. • Fixed a crash after pasting text with special formatting from another app (thanks submitting the crash log!) On a personal note: Here is a little not-so-secret: I (Noteship’s developer, Hi!) would rather spend my days adding new features to the app for you instead of marketing the app to increase downloads, but in order to sustain development, I have to take time out of my day to promote the app. Here is an offer for you: Please help spread the word about the app! New feature: A large calendar to see your reminders & notes at a glance. The new calendar view works for folders, search results, and notes with attachments. Select a folder, a note with attachments, or type text into the location bar to start a search, then click on the view options button at the right of the location bar and choose Calendar from the view options. For example: Want to see all your meeting minutes from last month? Search for #meetingminutes (type it into the location bar at the top), then switch to the Calendar view and there you go, a bird’s-eye view of your notes. This is the first larger feature update for Noteship since its debut in the Mac App Store and I’d love to hear how the app worked out for you so far.
