We now display floating point color values to 3 decimal places. This allows you to measure the subtlest changes in color.

The origin marker (crosshairs) now stands out against any background color (even middle value grays), at every magnification level.

Negative distances are now consistent with positive distances. They start counting at "1" on the selected origin point. The origin marker is now drawn in an alternating black and white pattern for magnifications greater than 8. This pattern makes it stand out on colors whose inverse is identical to or nearly identical to the original (middle value greys).

Minor security improvements

Now works again on Snow Leopard (Mac OS X 10.6). Version 1.1 had a bug where the magnified area was black on Snow Leopard.

Enhanced for Macs with a Retina display (e.g. MacBook Pro 2012 with Retina display). Color Enhancements: With the advent of Retina display Macs 1 pixel ≠ 1 point, rather 1 point = 4 pixels. Pixel Tools allows you to determine the exact color values of each of these sub-point pixels. Measurement Enhancements: Width and height measurements are given in points. UI Enhancements: Text and graphics are now extra sharp on Retina displays.

Made zooming with the scroll wheel or scroll gesture optional (and defaulted to off). Some mice and trackpads are extremely sensitive and using this feature can be problematic on those input devices.
