TalkNode is a communication board for people who cannot speak: after a stroke, with aphasia, ALS or dementia, autistic children, and patients who cannot speak for a while in hospital. Tap a picture card and the phone says the sentence out loud.
TalkNode speaks 10 languages: English, Türkçe, Deutsch, Español, Français, العربية, Русский, Português, Italiano and Nederlands. The buttons, the ready-made cards and the voice change together.
READY FROM THE FIRST MINUTE
• Setup starts by letting you hear the voice, so you know it works before you rely on it.
• Three starting boards: an adult at home, a child, a hospital stay.
• 62 ready-made cards for needs, feelings, health, quick answers and social phrases.
EVERY DAY
• Large cards that are easy to hit.
• "Might need next" learns which cards you use, on the device.
• Build a sentence from several cards, or "Type to Speak".
• "Show to listener" puts the sentence in large letters for the person in front of you.
• Male or female voice, at the speaking speed you prefer.
FOR CAREGIVERS
• Make cards with your own words and photos; TalkNode never overwrites them.
• A PIN-protected caregiver area, medicine reminders and "Usage Insights".
CARE NETWORK (OPTIONAL)
Family members and caregivers install TalkNode on their own phone or tablet and join with a 6-digit code.
• SOS and "come to me" requests reach them at once, repeat until someone answers, and widen to the whole family if nobody does.
• The patient sees in pictures who saw the request and who is coming, and confirms when they arrive.
• Every request keeps a timeline (delivered, seen, coming, arrived) with response times and a weekly report.
• Medicine doses can be confirmed with a short silent video that goes to the family's phones.
• Live view and on-device movement and sleep detection stay off until they are switched on at the patient's device. A "LIVE" sign is always shown while someone watches.
SOS
With a care network, SOS alarms everyone in it. Without one, SOS opens your messaging app with a ready-written message and a map link; you send it yourself.
PRIVACY
The board works offline, with no account. The optional care network uses an anonymous account and Google Firebase servers in the EU; what it needs is shared only with the members of your network. No ads, no analytics, no tracking.
