I’m very sorry this update took so long to get out the door. Thank you to everyone that emailed or got in touch. C H A N G E S ● Updated visual design for iOS 11 and iPhone X ● Added shortened/colloquial versions of some building names. ● Update search function to work with abbreviated names such as IM/MSU etc. ● If VoiceOver is running while using the Wand, the sound effect played when a building is detect now changes depending on the current accuracy, removing the need to manually check the accuracy. A low or awkward tone indicates a low accuracy, a neutral tone indicates medium and an upbeat tone indicates a high accuracy. Note that you can still swipe right from the building pointed at to get the old Wand accuracy. Sometimes fixes take a while to implement, test and make sure changes work for everyone, but we absolutely are working on every single suggestion that you have sent us.

This update includes the following: ● 3D Touch support for previewing the Search Tab results. ● Attempts to address a crash with certain models of the iPhone 7Plus. I’d like to say this fixes it, but we don’t see any logs on our end and none of the kind folk who left reviews bothered to follow up. If this does fix it for you and you left a review, please do leave another review saying so! I need a little help: some times crashes happen that are not made available to us. We don’t run anything on your phone that we wouldn’t want to put on ours, so there are NO hidden analytics, monitoring, etc other than those provided by Apple which are opt-in on your end. So now there’s 3 ways you can help us fix issues when the app doesn’t work the way you want or crashes. ● Go to Settings > Privacy > Analytics and Turn on Analytics along with Share with App Developers. This is the easiest for you and will not kill your battery. ● Email us at guide@rcpd.msu.edu. I will make sure it is fixed and credit you personally within the app and here. ● iMessage us, thats right, iMessage us at guide@rcpd.msu.edu. Seriously, any time of the day works: if its a bug or crash this is the fastest way to get it fixed. ● If you’re on campus, feel free to drop by our office at 120 Bessey Hall. Not only will we fix it, but leave you with a working build on the spot. Also, you get to tell me exactly what you want in the app and I'll never say no to a good idea.

This update addresses the following issues: ● Improved compass accuracy and tolerance for errors in case of magnetic interference. This improves Wand and Compass Lock. As of iOS 10.2, known compass issues have been addressed by Apple and all the work to compensate for errors in prior versions is included in this update. Under normal operating conditions, you shouldn’t notice any change in Wand or Compass lock. If you are still having issues, please email guide@rcpd.msu.edu. ● Font sizes increased in Search, Spotlight icons and Wand. Most text within Guide should now respond to Dynamic Text Size settings on your device. ● Added abbreviations for a few more buildings. You can also search for buildings from spotlight with their three letter codes now. ● Basic support for Continuity: Viewing a buildings details in Guide will suggest it at the bottom of the App Switcher and in Apple Maps’ autocomplete. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS ● A huge Thank you to MSU Freshman Stephen Schwarz who helped debug a crash affecting iPhone 7 Plus users. ● Another belated Thank you to Ryan Qamar who was instrumental in catching a bug in early versions of Guide. This update improves compatibility with iOS 10 and fixes the following bugs: ● Fixes a crash that occurs when opening anything that contained a Map. ● Fixes an issue where Guide would insist that "Location Services" was turned off. This update includes the following tweaks and bug fixes: ● Wand now displays an accuracy indicator, summarizing Compass and Location accuracy with 3 states: Red (Somethings wrong...), Yellow (Usable) and Green (All's good). The Accuracy indicator fades out after a moment. Tap anywhere outside the rings to show it again. [Accessibility] VoiceOver will focus the indicator when there is a change in accuracy level. To check accuracy manually, swipe one element past the Building name in Wand. ● Wand and Compass Lock for a building now include a set of concentric circles indicating your devices positioning. Keeping the circles centered will help give more accurate results. [Accessibility] Audio feedback is given for both centered and non-centered states. Volume is intentionally set low for now. It will be increased as soon as the centering audio can be made less intrusive to regular Wand use. ● Wand and Compass now support full screen operation. Single tap with two fingers anywhere to hide navigation bars. ● Entrance information is now enabled for all buildings on campus. ● Changed Wand behavior to be significantly more sensitive to buildings irrespective of their size. This means that buildings that were previously considered too small to be accurately pointed at(and hence ignored by Wand) will now work with Wand. ● The suggestions in Search are now sorted by distance to your current location. ● Added the ability to manually refresh the search suggestions with the standard pull-down-to-refresh method, if they do not automatically update. This update includes some long overdue bug fixes. • Fixed Search tab suggestions not updating when off-campus. • Fixed crash when switching to Map Tab and location services is disabled. • Fixed bug where all search suggestions would show "Berkey Hall" instead of what was tapped. • Fixed crash when Wand is reopened after being in the app drawer. • Fixed a crash when the same building is opened in all three tabs. Other changes: • Wand's sensitivity to detecting buildings has been increased. This should make buildings detected much more accurate. NOTE: We're seeing reports of some iPhone SE users unable to get accurate results with Wand. This is something we are investigating, however we do need your help. We've fixed every bug you've reported to us. Thank you to everyone who helped test and give feedback. Here's some of bigger bugs we've fixed. • Fixed crash on app launch on 32 bit devices running iOS 9. • Fixed crash if app drawer is opened as soon as Guide is launched. • Fixed crash if VoiceOver is launched as soon as Guide is launched. • Fixed Map disappearing when multitasking. • Fixed compass inconsistency when the same building is opened on each tab. • Disabled Wand on devices without Compass(iPod Touch). • Fixed crash when clicking a search result from SpotLight on the iOS Home Screen. • Fixed Search suggestions not updating when leaving campus. We've added some small features to the Building entrances: • You can now tap to view information about a buildings entrances. We are gradually pushing out detailed Accessibility information about each entrance. • VoiceOver users will have the building divided into 4 quadrants and can tap through to view Entrances in each quadrant. Other changes: • Spotlight results are now more useful. There is a navigate option for results that will redirect to the Maps app for navigation. • Some Parking Lots and Building abbreviations added. • Reordered the tabs so you're not thrown into a Map View. • Color palette changed.
