You may have played ALIAS, a game where you explain concepts without using the exact word. The goal is to describe words using synonyms, antonyms, or hints so that your teammates can guess as many words as possible before the timer runs out.
Our main goal was to create an app that would be convenient for learning languages and improving one's vocabulary. In addition to basic game functionality, we also added:
- TRANSLATIONS: During the game, and before and after it, you can use your phone's built-in dictionary to translate every word. This way, you can try to explain even those words you didn't know before. You'll see that you'll remember new words better than if you simply skipped them and moved on.
- YOUR OWN DICTIONARIES: In addition to playing basic dictionaries filtered by language level, you can create your own by importing words from any document or by using normal input. After that, you can play with your own words instead of the base ones.
- TRACK YOUR PROGRESS: We have added statistics on game frequency, number of studied words, and achievements for successful learning of new dictionaries and regularity of classes. Tracking your progress will motivate you to practice even more.
You can upgrade to the "Pro Version" to try out special functionality, or simply have fun playing the Alias game.
We have big plans for this app. We plan to update it soon with support for more languages. In the meantime, we would be grateful to receive your feedback!
