Could you please make an update? To have a half screen on iPad for sharing for example with notes? It would be very useful to have an option of writing down all thoughts about book! Thank you

This app decides since my phone doesn’t have enough space it can just erase my books automatically and wheni come to download them it says i need wifi to reload them not mobile data. If i had wifi I wouldn’t be rwading a book i would be on IG. Theres no setting anywhwre to change this!!!My favourite thing about this app was that it had a slide bar where you could see how far in you were of just drag it to go forward or back but now its hidden in the menu and its basically useless to me nowMy books suddenly blank when im reading. Likw i would be on 30 with 10 pages left in the chapter and as i scroll down suddenly its blank and i have to reset the app and download my book again for it to be fixed. But i can download cause maybe im in the bus and i only have mobile data.

After years of using the Books app, the latest update with iOS16 has utterly spoiled the mattress. Documents will "open" to show only blank pages, progress is haphazardly saved so that re-opening a book frequently reverts to a random, earlier page. Books in my library are no longer left stored on my device, but now revert to cloud storage and woe be unto any prospective reader not hugging their router. Previously read volumes in my library reappear as "new" books, while many books I haven't yet read are designated "completed" - naturally the user is not trusted to correct this information within the app. Highlighting and note-taking functions have ingeniously had any modicum of user-friendliness or usefulness stripped from them, I can only hope those resources are being well used elsewhere.

I bought iPad when my bookshelf was not capable of adding new books and my sight started to decline slowly not only to read ebooks on it but mainly. I was pleasently surprised by the screen quality and by a good reading experience using iBooks. It was clearly better than any of my previous eink readers and even close to paperbook experience. And books were searchable... I could have many of them with me. But the good reading experience is somehow gone with the redesign of the app, now called Books. My reading setup disappeared, turning pages is gone, searching is gone (or well hidden), Jobs rule to never break UX is trampled. And most probably there is no way to restore previous version. How unfortunate!
