Grinder decided that I am German :-) Luckily I know the language:-) 2.) Hate the long advertising with silly games for kids. Could you adapt it in accordance with target group, age and preferences?
Location problems, slow, too many ads, more and more restricted for non paying
Localizing problems often, above all when moving, in a bus etc. But even when not moving it cant refresh favourites too often.
Slow in comparison to other apps.
When answering a message then my message stays and look newly like an unread message in that conversation. I have to refresh messages to be displayed normally.
My perception is that the functions are more and more restricted for non paying users. Ok, accepting the business strategy but I think it is already over a certain reasonable. Also because there are so many ads.
Ads are very long lasting and I think very counterproductive: You simply close and open the app or just wait till the videoad is finished while absolutely not giving the attention to the ad. Most of the ads are some mobile games which I NEVER play, or Revolut which I dont plan to use. Senseless targeting.
The only benefit is it has so many users. But when you are into little mature and older men then this benefit is not so valid. There is majority of very young or younger guys.
Btw I pay from time to time for another apps like Romeo or Scruff but Grindr ´s pricing is much higher and I have no intention to pay. Rather paying for other mentioned apps.
The worst dating app ever made
I’m a very long time user of Grindr and I’m surprised how they making the app even worse every year? Non-usable interface with very pure performance, tons of sketchy and scam ads that showing up like every second. The most non-human monetisation patterns I ever seen in my life is also available here (taking bunch of money from you is the only thing that properly works in this app and I’m not surprised about it). I don’t know how’s that possible that LGBTQA+ app can be so non-humanistic and toxic to their own users. Unfortunately there is still big audience and that’s why we still have to use this platform. Oh, also they collecting crazy amount of private data and selling it after :) And they made their app recently totally dangerous to use in homophobic countries by disabling ways to change user’s location. As a summary, I’d say that this is one of the most homophobic apps ever made.
