ShroomCast: Mushroom Forecast
Smart Mushroom Forecasting
Free · In-App Purchases
A forecast for every wood: tap one for its trees, ground, rain and today's estimate for each mushroom. Save the woods you love and log your finds where you pick.
ShroomCast helps you predict when and where to find edible mushrooms, down to the wood you walk in, based on real weather, forest ecosystems, soil conditions, moon phases, and observation data.
A FORECAST FOR EVERY WOOD:
Tap any wood on the map to open its card: the trees that grow there, the ground, the rain of the last 14 days and our estimate for each mushroom today. Save the woods you go to with the star and find them in Your places on the home screen.
WHAT SHROOMCAST ANALYZES:
- Temperature: Real-time and historical data to detect ideal fruiting conditions
- Rainfall: Short-term and cumulative patterns model ground saturation
- Soil Moisture: Tracks forest floor moisture in real time
- Soil Temperature: Ground conditions matter as much as air
- Humidity: High humidity keeps forests moist for mushrooms
- Cloud Cover: Balanced sun exposure for optimal growth
- Atmospheric Pressure: Signals mushroom activity shifts
- Moon Phases: Lunar cycles influence certain species
- Forest Type: Pine, birch, or mixed, species preferences
- Soil Composition: pH, sand, and clay preferences per species
- Seasonality: Region-specific fruiting windows
SPECIES-LEVEL PRECISION:
Track 10+ popular edible species including Porcini, Chanterelles, Morels, Bay Boletes, and more. Each species has unique preferences that our ML model learns from 7+ years of data and 1M+ verified observations.

WHERE NATURE MEETS SCIENCE:
Foraging has always been intuitive, guided by scent, memory, and luck. ShroomCast enhances that intuition with science, combining environmental data, forest mapping, and observation patterns to give you insight that no calendar or habit ever could.
COVERAGE:
10+ countries across Europe, with new ones added regularly.
PREMIUM FEATURES:
Upgrade to access all species, extended forecasts, fruiting alerts, and advanced filtering tools.
It's still nature. Just smarter.
