Got a folder full of MP3s? Binder turns them into a proper audiobook — a single M4B file with chapters, cover art and author details, one that remembers where you stopped listening. And when you have no recording at all, Binder can make one. Give it the text of a book and it will prepare audiobook in a voice you choose. WHAT BINDER DOES • Builds an audiobook from separate files — MP3, M4A, WAV and FLAC • Splits, merges, renames and reorders chapters • Adds cover art and book details, or finds them online for you • Writes one M4B with chapter markers that any decent player understands • Reads text from EPUB, PDF, MOBI, DOCX, RTF and old Palm books, and finds the chapters in it • Narrates a book out loud, in English and other languages • Sends the finished book to WristTales on iPhone and Apple Watch NARRATION RUNS ON YOUR MACHINE Your own Mac does the speaking. Neither the text nor the finished audio goes anywhere, you need no account and no key to any service, and nothing is charged by the minute. The voice server installs separately, free, with a single command — it is an open project on GitHub. App Store apps are not permitted to install it themselves. You will need an Apple silicon Mac with at least 16 GB of memory. Expect narration to run slower than listening: a ten-hour book takes roughly fifteen hours to speak, so it is work for overnight. BUY IT ONCE AND IT IS YOURS No subscription, no in-app purchases. Your books stay yours — Binder is only the tool you arrange them with. WHY WRISTTALES? I like walking and running, and I like reading books. I could not find a simple watch app to keep books on and listen to them without carrying a heavy phone in my pocket. This app then grew around the watch app: a way to bind, convert and narrate any text, and to convert audio formats into audiobooks.
