I installed Twitter for the first time and made my first account. I added some filmmakers and some DIY celebrities. Then after five or so minutes, just as other users reported, the app blocked me and demanded my mobile phone number. I don’t trust every company, most especially in Web 2.0. Twitter allowed me to give my personal email address and password. I submitted personal info, yet like vampires they want more. Under GDPR, they make it difficult to request and expunge my personal data. Their site says they’re working on it. Let’s meet in a court in Belgium, Twitter Gestapo!

Worst support ever!

I’ve created an account and purchased X Basic subscription. After I realized that X Basic won’t give me a blue checkmark, so I’ve upgraded my subscription - nothing changed - X Basic was still active. I’ve contacted Apple, they provided me with all the necessary proofs that there’s no bug on their site and that they’ve informed X about my subscription upgrade. I’ve contacted X support. They told me they cannot help as they didn’t receive any information from Apple regarding subscription upgrade. So I’ve canceled my X Premium subscription and X basic supbscription so I purchase an X Premium via X platform. Nothing changed my X Basic was still active. X told me that I have to wait one month until my initial X Basic will expire(though it was cancelled). So I waited a month and… nothing changed. X told me to wait until 19th of April 2024 that my X Basic will expire and I’ll be able to purchase an X Premium. It’s 26th of April 2024 and nothing changed - X Basic is still active. Support is not replying. Waiting for a week until they reply is a “sure thing”. That unbelievable guys, email communication is faster than reactions of your support in X chat. Have no words, haven’t met worse support than your. Shame.

Twitter is probably the only social network, where you can turn off the algorythm, that edits/creates your feed. Also, I don’t know about any leak of users informations. The ads are not so annoying and the app is very transparent to you. Also switching between accounts is very easy and fast. The app is okay with nudity, so you have more freedom here, than on other social networks.

Twitter users go to twitter to know what people are actually talking about, and removing worldwide trends especially at a time where the whole world is drastically impacted, where the world needs to learn from each other and to stay connected—it’s just not adding up. Removing the worldwide trends seems divisive and worse, suggests censorship which I believe are contradictory to the essence of Twitter.And as much as you think Personalized content is spot on, it’s not. Users need the power to decide, on their own, what is relevant and interested for them. Right now that means having easy access to worldwide trends, and following certain topics they choose to follow.
