1.0.27 26. Okt.
Exported videos keep the colour you see while editing, the same as on the web.
When Auto Cut copies your clips from Photos or iCloud, you now see its real progress.
If a Revise stops before it finishes, your edit goes back to how you saved it.
In the voiceover script editor, Save script stays above the keyboard.
Adding the same sound many times no longer stops the sound in your preview.
On iOS 18, the text style sliders follow your finger.
Tapping Comments on a community post always opens its comments.
1.0.25 22. Okt.
Videos you post in the community keep uploading after you close the post, and finish posting on their own.
If you leave the app while a community video is uploading, the upload keeps going, and if it's interrupted it picks up where it stopped instead of starting over.
1.0.24 19. Okt.
You can now crop a graphic or a B-roll clip right where it sits, from Quick Actions. Text boxes and graphics snap to each other as you drag them, and narrow text boxes are easier to grab.
Exports keep text and captions exactly where the preview shows them, and layers stack the same way in the export as on the timeline.
If Auto Cut, Revise, Make Shorter or Make Longer is interrupted when you leave the app, it now carries on where it left off once your clips are back. If it can't, the notice has its own Auto Cut button.
You can delete any project, including ones saved only in the cloud, and select several projects to delete at once. Uploads also pick up more reliably after the app restarts.
Karaoke captions keep a line break you type, the Edit caption keyboard has a return key, and Regenerate now transcribes a video you added after making captions. Captions you remove stay off when you trim a clip later.
Punch In, Push In and Quick Zoom now apply as soon as you tap S, M or L. When Remove Spaces finds no pauses, it offers Remove More Space for shorter gaps.
Adding a video from + now places it as B-roll at the playhead, and deleting a sound effect deletes only that clip. Speaker Zoom tells you what it did in a notice that stays on screen.
Analyze keeps uploading your video for a short while after you leave the app, and a slow analysis keeps waiting instead of asking you to try again. Going Back from an analysis no longer shows a blank page on iOS 18.
1.0.23 13. Okt.
This update fixes a crash in the editor preview that could happen after you ran Auto Cut a second time on a project where you had removed words.
Exports now tell you why they failed, check that your phone has enough free space before they start, and show their progress in one place. Videos from some cameras now export every frame, and an export's sound ends where your timeline ends.
Caption Transcribe keeps repeated takes, the same as on the web. Projects saved in older versions open without freezing, and Analyze opens your analysis as soon as the video finishes importing.
Projects you delete now stay deleted on your other devices and on the web, even if your connection drops while you delete them.
The Community welcome video now plays right in the app, and a Community screen that could keep reloading on iOS 18 is fixed. Dragging the start of a clip on the timeline no longer moves its end.
1.0.22 8. Okt.
This update fixes an issue that could close the app when you pinch to zoom the timeline in the editor.
1.0.21 4. Okt.
Community messages now show photos, videos and voice notes. You can send photos and voice notes from the app, and voice notes can now run up to three minutes.
You can invite members to your accountability group, or leave it, right from the app.
Notifications open the right screen, and message and call notifications have quick actions like Reply and Join. The app icon badge now matches your unread count.
Your edits now look the same in the preview, the export and on the web, including rotated, flipped and repositioned clips. Rotated portrait clips show at full width in the preview.
Auto Cut handles repeated takes the same way as on the web. Uploads keep going when you switch away from the app, and Community videos pause and resume where you left them.
This update also fixes screens that could freeze on iOS 18 and helps projects saved in older versions open reliably.
1.0.20 2. Okt.
The dashboard stays responsive while interrupted video uploads are checked in the background. Upload recovery also handles leaving and returning to the app more reliably.
After rendering a video, the export screen now makes it clearer how to save it to Photos or Files.
You can now choose the language for newly generated content in Workspace settings, or leave it on Automatic to match your niche.
1.0.19 23. Sept.
Captions stay lined up with your words after you trim, move, delete or reorder clips, and after you run Auto Cut again. If they ever look off, the caption controls can now regenerate them from your current cut, or remove them so you can export a clean video.
Projects you started on the web now say so in your project list. When one opens View only, Make an iPhone copy gives you a version you can keep editing on your phone.
Video uploads that get interrupted now pick back up on their own, without reopening the project.
1.0.18 21. Sept.
Auto Cut is faster on projects with many clips, and silent clips no longer wait on transcription. It picks cutaways that show what is being said, never covers your talking with a section of the same clip, and times the picture to the take you will hear.
On the timeline, B-roll keeps its thumbnails when you move it to another row, the resize box follows your finger, and trim handles are easier to grab.
The teleprompter keeps listening for the whole take. Captions stay in place after restoring words, and black flashes between clips are gone.
Exporting an unchanged project reuses the last render. Your own cloud projects open editable again, and imports keep every video that finished.
Community gets a cleaner composer, a back swipe in the reel and message threads, and past calls from the course library. Settings has a new Notifications section.
1.0.17 14. Sept.
Analyze playback works again, and playing a section plays the preview you can see.
Auto Cut cuts between words, keeps the sources you chose, and picks up where it left off when you return to the app. A silent reel now gets an order and tells you what it still needs.
Captions survive reordering and moving clips. Editing one no longer splits it into single words.
The preview stops going black at clip joins. Wide clips sit correctly in mixed-orientation projects, and dragging from the media pool works again on iOS 26.
Photos imports retry instead of stalling, uploads recover from cancelled transfers, and media stays attached to cloud projects.
Community posts show links and keep them through an edit. Landscape videos stay landscape.
Deleting a clip asks first, and speed effects export in step with the picture.
1.0.16 31. Aug.
Community comments now support photos, voice notes, and video.
Video Review shows newest submissions first and resumes when you return.
Projects stay editable after relaunch.
Timeline trimming, Auto Cut, Brainstorm, Photos export, transcription, Quick Zoom, and project deletion are more reliable.
1.0.15 24. Aug.
Uploads keep running when you leave the app or lock your phone, and resume after an interrupted transfer.
Importing large batches of clips now completes instead of freezing. Selecting 100 or more videos asks you to confirm first.
The editor no longer runs out of memory and closes during heavy editing, zooming, and export.
You stay signed in instead of being asked to sign in again. New projects stay editable instead of locking to view only.
Dragging a Quick Zoom whoosh now moves the zoom, and the change is saved. Video Reviews shows every member's submissions, and the format question on a Video Review is now optional.
1.0.14 13. Aug.
Quick Zoom now works correctly on projects that mix footage from different sources. Adding a Quick Zoom could previously turn parts of your video black.
Uploads recover on their own after a dropped connection instead of stalling.
A new navigation menu across the app, plus a refreshed Video Reviews experience.
Brainstorm now shows and retries a chat turn that got interrupted.
Stability fixes for crashes during editing and Auto Cut.
1.0.13 11. Aug.
Fixes an issue where Auto Cut could stop responding and require force-quitting the app. Auto Cut now completes reliably, and a stalled run reports an error instead of hanging.
1.0.12 5. Aug.
Introducing Community.
Format Finder now has a members-only space built into the app.
• Community: a private space for members. Share wins, ask questions, get feedback on your videos, and see who else is building in your niche.
• Video Review: post a cut and get feedback from coaches and other members.
• Group Chat and direct messages, so you can talk to people directly.
• Live Room and upcoming calls, so you always know what's on.
• Push notifications for replies, mentions, and messages.
New navigation. One menu, top left, on every screen. One profile button, top right. The bottom bar is gone, so you get more of the screen and the same navigation everywhere, on iPhone and iPad.
Also fixed:
• Text you add now exports exactly where you placed it. Previously a hook could shift or overlap your captions in the exported video.
• Long captions now wrap in the export the same way they wrap in the editor, instead of being squeezed onto one line with words cut off at the edges.
• Auto Cut no longer fails with a connection error while your clips are backing up, and it names the real cause if preparing audio does fail.
• Auto Cut no longer reports success when a clip has too little speech to edit.
• Watch Tutorial plays again instead of showing an error.
• Landscape clips can be reframed to use the whole frame.
• Zoom framing now matches the box you drew.
• Push In and Punch In render correctly on multi-clip timelines.
• Importing is clearer: your clip appears in the media pool while it loads, and progress shows the actual stage instead of sitting at 0%.
• Interrupting an import returns you to Add Clips instead of a half-loaded editor.
• Cancelling Save & Analyze no longer discards your export.
• Failed uploads now explain why.
1.0.11 4. Aug.
This update makes Auto Cut respect the order you intend:
• Clip order now controls your story: clips you add are put in the order you recorded them, the order you arrange is the order Auto Cut uses, and the clips screen now says so.
• Auto Cut recovers instead of stalling: interrupted runs resume, and jobs survive a dropped connection.
• Footage with no speech now offers a B-roll path instead of stopping at an error.
• Better B-roll: smoother frame previews, and an option to keep it over your speech.
• Steadier preview on large projects, and one unreadable voiceover no longer breaks playback.
• Captions keep their correct color when exporting HDR footage.
• Clearer cloud backup: per-clip status in the media panel, and stranded uploads reconnect on their own.
Thanks for using Format Finder.

• Additional performance improvements and bug fixes.
