My husband and I wanted to fly back from Denver to Tampa and since there was a change in airplanes and I had the cheaper ticket (we couldn’t book together bc we arrived in Denver on different days) I was bumped off the flight. Fact was, we drove to the airport, we checked in the day before. And WHILE we were boarding my seat was cancelled. Unbelievable. The flight left at 11:30am. At 6:18am we received an Email stating that there are volunteers needed but quote „If you would like to stay on this flight, no further action is needed.“ so believing we would be ok we drove to the airport. Last minute we had to decide what to do, my husband works and couldn’t take another day off so he was priority. My options were a 9h over night flight with a stop in Cincinnati, Orlando the next day, or TWO days later another direct Tampa flight. But what does Frontier care, that my husband has now to take half a day of PTO time to pick me up the next day from the Orlando airport that is about an hour further away than Tampa. Frontier doesn’t care. The ladies at the counter at the gate didn’t care. They give you a voucher for another flight. Not even cash back. Yes they’re cheap. But they don’t are. And nothing about their slogan „Low Fares Done Right“ is true. Nothing. If you can book another airline. Bc the lady at the counter actually agreed when I asked that when you have a cheap ticket you never are guaranteed your spot on the plane. So in this case cheap is not better and can actually cost you more.
