NEW ATS TEMPLATES? WAIT, HOW MANY?? Applicant tracking systems (ATS) are on almost every job seeker’s mind these days. We think that’s wrong. Luckily, Kickresume can help you forget all about them! These past couple of months we’ve been working on five brand new, totally uncompromising templates created with ATS compatibility in mind. And we succeeded! These new templates parse incredibly well with basically every ATS system out there. We know that because we tested them. But doing well with the bots doesn’t mean these templates won’t look great to the human eye too! Don’t believe me? Well, you have human eyes so you can see for yourself. You’ll find them in their very own “ATS” templates category inside the app. Oh, and we also smashed some bugs as always.

NEW WAYS TO CUSTOMIZE YOUR RESUME’S LAYOUT Do your current resume sections feel like prison cells? Then this latest update is a prison break! (What a powerful opening for a release note, too!) Anyway, in this latest update we wanted to give you more ways to customize your resume’s layout. Because of that, most resume sections now come with various pre-defined layouts for you to choose from. You can find these under the Design tab. (Alright, maybe not exactly a prison break, but at least now you get to redecorate the cells. Life’s good.) We also brought a bit more order to our collection of 40+ resume templates. That, obviously, is a big number as far as resume templates go, which is a good thing. On the other hand, finding the right resume template was becoming a bit difficult. Because of that, the templates are now organized into several neat categories. Call it autumn cleaning if you like. And while we were doing all that cleaning, some bugs crawled out. We smashed them all. It’s safer that way.

IN SECURITY (we trust!) In this newest release we made several improvements to the security of the app. It’s more secure now and that’s a good thing. Also, some bugs were smashed. So, as you can see…There’s nothing to see here, citizen, move along.

Hi! With this latest update, the app is updated. While there aren’t many visible changes, in the background we’ve laid foundations for a major release coming later this summer. I’m not allowed to write about it just yet, but it will be glorious. Stay tuned! (Oh, and we also did some bug fixing as always.)

RESUME WRITER 2.0 IS HERE! Our (your) resume writer is now better than ever. It’s no longer a cookie-cutter one-fits-all button that does it all. Now you can select your preferred tone of voice, structure, and more, to generate just the resume you want. Of course, it’s still fine-tuned to produce resumes that meet the highest standards. Hope this will let you create even better resumes and land even better jobs. With it comes an improved resume rewriter. It does nearly the same thing but it lets you rewrite resumes instead of generating them from scratch. Give it a try!

Fixed the part where the app dramatically exited.

Sorry. Today I cannot give you proper release notes, as I normally do. I totally forgot about this task and my team is already spamming me with reminders. Here’s what’s new: • upgraded payment system • removed Voice AI section • enabled new architecture - better performance • design improvements • fixed image picker bottom safe area insets • fixed reset password error handling So, that’s that!

They told me to write a fun release notes text for an app. “The changes are not that big,” they said, “It doesn’t matter what you say.” But you know what? It’s still release notes and you deserve to know. In this latest release, we’ve removed the pre-written phrases. This feature was a relic from an age long past when we didn’t have generative AI to tailor the content of your resume specifically for you. So yeah, now that we have something better, we don’t have to depend on solutions like these. Then there’s a bunch of small details. For example, now when you open the interviews feature for the first time, the app will automatically open the interview creation modal. It’s nothing big but it will save you one tap. And finally, there’s one more. I’m not sure what it does. My notes say “feat: replace Jobs with WebView.” I’m sure it’s very important. Go team! And that’s it for my fun little release notes text.

We have made a few changes. They will be kept secret. Nothing to see here. Carry on.

Hi! There’s nothing exciting or groundbreaking about this latest release (it’s mostly bug fixes). That is, apart from the fact that…no, I was right, there’s absolutely nothing.

ATS Checker comes to iOS! This is big news. The ATS Resume Checker is one of our most successful features ever. It lets you check your resume’s ATS compatibility and ensure that it gets into the hands of a human recruiter. In other words, it help you optimize your resume in a way that gets you more callbacks and interviews. In addition, we’ve made several other improvements. You can now remove your photo from the resume. The cover letter generator has been improved. Authentication is now more secure. And there’s more. Also, if you notice fewer bugs around, that’s intentional—we squashed quite a few to make the app more stable and secure.

JOB INTERVIEW PRACTICE 2.0 In this newest release, we took a look at the way we approach job interview practice. Previously, every job interview session was tied to a resume. That’s all in the past now. You can now create as many interview training sessions as you want, without ever needing a resume. We also added a simple interview management screen that lets you easily switch between different interview sessions, save them, delete them, or access your old practice sessions whenever you want. It should make finding the right interview session a bit less troublesome. Apart from that, we did a whole host of small improvements to the UX of the app. There’s a good chance you won’t even notice most of them. That’s good. They should feel that natural. Finally, we smashed some bugs. (Sorry, bugs!)

TRANSLATE YOUR RESUMES, GENERATE YOUR COVER LETTERS, READ THESE RELEASE NOTES In this newest release we’ve addded two big features. First, you can now translate your resumes using our fine-tuned AI model. Simply go to the ‘Improve’ tab in the editor while creating your document, select your languages, and have your resume translated in seconds. Second, we added cover letter generation. You can now generate tailored cover letters based on your job title, any job post, and/or your resume. The more information you give it, the better the cover letter it produces. Give it a try. The cover letter generator is pretty capable and it will surprise you. And that’s it. I mean, there were several smaller changes to the design and UX of the app, but nobody’s going to notice them anyway. But that’s not a bad thing—these changes still make Kickresume better and more usable than ever before.

NEW AI TOOLS & QoL IMPROVEMENTS This release brings exciting new features to help you craft the perfect job application. We’re introducing a tool that allows you to tailor your resume for specific job roles by simply providing the job ad information, making the whole process easy and straightforward. We’ve also added a new AI toolbar that puts smart, AI-powered tools at your fingertips, and our advanced AI rewrite tool helps you polish your writing in no time. Besides the new tools, we’ve also made the UI more intuitive by moving descriptions to a bottom sheet dialog and refining the resume creation journey. And, of course, we’ve fixed some bugs to keep everything running smoothly. Enjoy the updates and don’t hesitate to give our AI some work!

REFRESHED UI + JOB BOARD In this latest release, we’ve made further improvements to the app’s UI based on feedback from our users. We’ve added a new dashboard that should make accessing the most frequently used features a bit easier. We’ve also enhanced the navigation bar at the bottom of the screen, which is now contextual and better reflects the tool you’re using. The mobile app now includes access to Kickresume’s job board, similar to its desktop counterpart. You can now use your newly created resumes and cover letters to apply for jobs directly within the app. Additionally, we’ve made some subtle visual changes to the UI. While these changes aren’t drastic, we hope they’ll make the app feel more sleek and enjoyable to use. Oh, and, as always, we’ve squashed some bugs—just to keep with tradition.

FEBRUARY 2025 UX UPDATE IS HERE! We’ve just made several small changes to the app’s UX. The dashboard has been redesigned to take better advantage of swipe gestures. Also, the edit screen has been reorganized to better reflect how people intuitively approach resume building. These changes are the result of rigorous UX research conducted on (mostly) willing test subjects and should make the app more new-user-friendly. Finally, just like always, we smashed some bugs. It’s a never-ending battle.

Revolutionary new changes incoming…NOT! Evolution beats revolution 9 times out of 10. Because of that, this release is deliberately unexciting. We simply smashed a few bugs and made small incremental changes to the UI. Anyway, that still means your favorite AI resume builder is now better than ever before.

SHARING DOESN’T HAVE TO BE SCARY + AI TOOLBOX Resumes and cover letters are made for sharing, which is why we’re giving you even more sharing options directly inside the app. Among other options, you can now share your documents via a unique URL. Give it a try! Also, the sheer number of different AI features inside Kickresume was begging for a little spring cleaning. Now, you can find them all together in a separate section for AI tools called—surprise, surprise—the AI Toolbox. Lastly, we have also made several improvements on the back end of the app. It should now run a bit better and be bug-free.
