Deeply unsatisfactory experience

Frankly, the app is total s… It refuses to work on non-UK networks and mobile numbers. I could NOT buy/download tickets while outside of UK and I could NOT EVEN download/buy tickets while in the UK but on a foreign phone number. The only way to use this app, if your phone is non-UK, is within the UK on a Wifi connection.This is frankly the most inconvenient travel app I have ever experienced. Because of it we almost were without tickets going from PAD to Penzance (if not for some really helpful staff at PAD who printed our mobile tickets). The railway services were great but the app really stressed us out in the beginning and we are really hoping that GWR finds a way to lift this totally nonsensical geo restriction. There is simply no good reason to disable the purchase and download of tickets through the app and I have yet to find another railway company in the world that has such a restriction in place.

It is sad that an app with a rather nice design is so badly designed on the software side. Searching for connections, I got errors. Buying a ticket, I got error messages. Adding my ticket to apple wallet, is an option, but does not work. To further annoy the user one is being regularly logged off the account. I recommend app testing, this is just really embarrassing for a large train operator.

Can't log in to gwr account - nowhere to turn for help

I've had the problem since three months that I can not log into my gwr account, which works totally fine on the website. When you click app support you can only complain, but nowhere to turn for technical support. Saved at the wrong end. Will use Flixbus next time.

maybe apple will take this one
The app isn’t even loading suggestions let alone journeys. I already saw the ticket options are not working for foreign travelers so I decided to get it only for time table and travel planning, but not even this is working. There are developing countries that have better public transportation apps than this one is!

There are developing countries that have better public transportation apps than this one is!

We have made some changes: The way to sign in and register Promo codes are now added before you search for your tickets Our payment provider, so things will look slightly different
