Privacy First -------------- Sink It has been built with a privacy first approach. - All the blocking happens on your device with literally ZERO data being recorded or sent back to be data mined. - We don't keep usage data like the count of how many popups and banners it has blocked or links it has redirected. - We don't even come with basic app analytics or telemetry to keep track of how many times you've opened or use the app. - It does check whether you have dark mode on or not so it can show you the correct tutorial video. (I hate opening a bright video on dark mode as much as you.) If you're a security researcher, feel free to poke around to make sure the app isn't up to anything funky.

Da die offizielle Reddit App eher solala ist funktioniert dieses Safari Add-On umso besser. Klasse Funktionen und eig. alles kostenlos machbar.

Ein großer Nachteil

Absolut großartige App, mit der man wirklich sehr viel einstellen kann. Das Benutzererlebnis wird deutlich verbessert. Ein Nachteil bleibt jedoch bestehen und zwar, dass beim Öffnen von jedem (!) Artikel das Pop-up zur Erstellung eines Accounts kommt ("nag screen"). Dieses muss dann geschlossen werden und zwar jedes Mal. Diverse Updates haben das nicht behoben, obwohl angekündigt. Vor einigen Monaten bestand dieses Problem noch nicht. So macht das einfach keinen Spaß. Reddit wird damit nahezu unbenutzbar, wenn man am Tag einige Artikel lesen möchte.Nutzt man die Erweiterung nicht, dann kommt das Popup nicht. Auch im Brave Browser sieht man nativ kein Popup. Konsequenz für mich: ich nutze den Brave Browser für Reddit...

This “app” allows zooming on IPad

This “app” (or Safari extension) allows to use the web site version and doesn’t block zooming. Finally a way to read Reddit on an iPad mini with a font size that I can actually read easily. Unlike the official app, which blocks zooming in landscape mode, so there’s loads of white space and the font is too small, even at max size.

Only shows sign up nag screen when enabled

Love the extension but the issue is that the nag screen only shows up when the extension is enabled and it’s a worse nag screen than normally we are talking full screen “Sign up for Reddit” from top to bottom for every new post. I had to disable the extension because of this now i get no nag screen at all Adblock is active in both scenarios. Hope this is something that can be fixed. Otherwise it would be perfect but as is the nag screen is working 🙃

Love the extension but the issue is that the nag screen only shows up when the extension is enabled and it’s a worse nag screen than normally we are talking full screen “Sign up for Reddit” from top to bottom for every new post. I had to disable the extension because of this now i get no nag screen at all Adblock is active in both scenarios. Hope this is something that can be fixed. Otherwise it would be perfect but as is the nag screen is working 🙃
