The FTA launched the Tourist Refund Scheme in November 2018 following the introduction of 5% VAT in January 2018. Please visit www.planetpayment.ae for more details. ## What is Tax Free Shopping? - While on your holiday in the UAE you can get a refund for the Value Added Tax (VAT) you paid on your retail shopping. To get your refund, you just need to show your purchases and get them validated when you leave the country. It's a way to save some money while enjoying your shopping experience in the UAE. ## Who is eligible? - VAT refunds in the UAE are available to overseas tourists aged 18 and above.
