FableAI is a text RPG where you play the hero and an AI narrator runs the story. Type what your character does or says, and the narrator writes what happens next. The narrator draws anime-style pictures of the scenes as you play, and if you turn on dice rolls, risky moves get a d20 roll. Pick one of 5,000+ adventures or describe your own world in one sentence, then play alone or with up to 8 players in the same story.
HOW A TURN WORKS
• Choose DO or SAY and type your move. Talk your way past a guard, steal the captain's map, or ask the innkeeper why the town is empty.
• Want a nudge? Tap one of the suggested choices, or ignore them and write your own.
• Turn on dice rolls and the narrator rolls a d20 when a move could go either way. A failed roll is often where things get interesting.
• Not happy with a turn? Retry it, undo it, or tap Continue and let the narrator keep going.
WHAT A TURN LOOKS LIKE
You (DO): I slide the stolen key across the bar and ask the innkeeper who else has a copy.
Narrator: She doesn't pick it up. "Three people had one," she says. "Two of them went missing. The third just sat down behind you."
PLAY WITH FRIENDS
Up to 8 players can share one story. Everyone plays their own character, and the narrator works each move into the same scene, so a heist or a rescue goes differently with every group. Run a one-shot on a Friday night or keep a campaign going for weeks.
5,000+ ADVENTURES, OR YOUR OWN WORLD
Fantasy kingdoms, space stations, haunted houses, isekai worlds, heists, detective cases and everyday life. Play adventures other players have built, or type one sentence, like "a kingdom of floating castles guarded by an old dragon", and start playing it right away.
BE ANYONE
Play a knight, a smuggler, a starship pilot, a detective on a night train, or yourself. Nothing is scripted: you decide what your character says and does, and the story goes from there.
MEMORY YOU CAN SEE AND EDIT
Story Cards and Memory Fragments hold the names, places and events the narrator should keep in mind. You can see, edit and delete them, so you decide what it remembers. Some memory features need a paid plan.

The app is aesthetically pleasing and has most of the relevant functions e.g. edit, say/do actions and narrator questions. Reading aloud is a nice feature, but expensive. Unfortunately, the app does not offer any functions that other apps do not already have and is much more expensive, the gem consumption per output is enormous and the narrator only gives monosyllabic answers. At least the maximum output length is severely limited. Real improvements compared to other apps, e.g. such as a randomized battle or skill system, an inventory function or similar, are lacking. There are also hardly any options for saving memories manually. Conclusion: Nice packaging, little creative effort behind it. Other apps are more advanced and cheaper

Memory is saved automatically to simplify your experience, and we’ve recently upgraded our memory system for better consistency. Narrators have varying costs, Wordie, for example, only uses 1 gem per interaction and offers 100 interactions daily on the free plan. While some adventures are more narrative-focused, others include RPG elements like inventory tracking and skill systems. We’re working on expanding these features and truly value your input. I’ve been playing campaigns through this app for a long time and have even designed one myself. Overall, it’s a very good app for AI-run campaigns.What I like is that you can adjust odd decisions or developments in the AI’s response so they don’t end up ruining the whole game. That said, the stories are usually very well written, and depending on the “Gamemaster AI” you choose, you can pick different styles for how you want the story to unfold.For the sake of convenience, I’d like the option to select the language in the basic settings. This would allow non-native English speakers to interact with the campaign more easily and develop cooler stories long-term than is sometimes possible with simple words. Other than that, features like inventories or more intuitive ways to access the UI still have some potential for improvement.That’s why it’s “only” 4/5 stars. Cool app with a lot of potential still ahead of it.

I like the app I have the starter plan and I think the diamonds are not enough or the messages take a lot of them, maybe increase the diamonds for the plans? And sometimes the ai uses names too often for different persons wich can be quite confusing. And the recommended answers from the ai aren’t that good also and the ai writes the texts in my perspective or in someone else’s perspective even though I write in my perspective.
