Sehr gut, wenn man im Zusammenspiel mit der Desktopapp arbeitet

Genau das was ich fürs wissenschaftliche Schreiben gesucht habe: Fußnoten, Gliederungsfunktion, verspricht auch, ganze Bücher zu verkraften.

Schönheitsfehler: Die alte Textlupe ist überholt und verlangsamt das Arbeiten unnötig. Das Markieren von Text erfordert dann auch noch eine ungewöhnliche kleine Zeitverzögerung nach dem Doppeltippen auf ein Wort, ehe man am Cursorpunkt die Markierung fassen und erweitern kann - das hat mich anfangs so stark irritiert, dass ich dachte, es funktioniert überhaupt nicht. Bei keiner aktuellen App erlebe ich noch ein solches Verhalten! Bitte nachbessern!

Die Desktop App funktioniert sehr gut und ist aber auch unverzichtbar, um wichtige Einstellungen vornehmen zu können, und auch, um mit Hilfe der übersichtlichen Gliederungsfunktion Textteile verschieben zu können – nur auf dem Mac geht das! Mellel kann auf dem iPad keine Gliederungselemente verschieben, genausowenig wie microsoft Word, Pages oder Google docs. Schade! (Auf dem iPad kann ausschließlich »Storyist« Textglieder verschieben. Freilich gibt es bei Storyist keine Fußnotenfunktion.)

Großer Wunsch an den Entwickler: Bitte die Verschiebbarkeit der Gliederungselemente auf dem iPad hinzufügen! Dann würde Mellel eine Lücke schließen und wäre unschlagbar! Immer mehr Autoren arbeiten primär auf dem iPad!

Beste Textverarbeitung der Welt ...

Ich arbeite mit einem iPad Pro 2018 iVm einem SmartKeyboardFolio (> 315 Anschläge/Minute), über meinen -auch hierfür- langjährig verwendeten stationären PC laufen die Spinnen.

Das einzige, was mich am iPad und IOS bislang gestört hatte, war das völlige Fehlen einer anständigen und zugleich akzeptablen Textverarbeitung. Die bisherigen Optionen waren kläglich: entweder mußte auf das abo-pflichtige MS OFFICE für IOS -Office 365- zurückgegriffen werden, oder aber es fehlten so wichtige Funktionen, wie eine Einstellmöglichkeit der Seitenränder beim Drucken - Folge: die Seite begann unterhalb des ersten Drittels: SCHEI...! ...

Mellel kam mir deshalb wie gerufen. Endlich kann ich auch die Seitenränder definieren, Lohn: bessere Seitenausnutzung bei gleichzeitiger besserer Lesbarkeit der Dokumente, Zeilenformatierungsmöglichkeit, Zeichenformatierungsmöglichkeit - alles, was Office auch kann. Und das alles ohne Abo!!

Dank Mellel kann ich mein iPad Pro auch faktisch so verwenden, wie es der Namenszusatz sagt: professionell.

Hiervon sollten sich MS, Apple & Co. eine ganz dicke Scheibe abschneiden!

Kurzfassung: Mellel ist DIE PERFEKTE Textverarbeitung überhaupt. In jeglicher Hinsicht!

Good Wirting App but some weakness

First of all Mellel on iPad is Great- i have my phd mobile and a mellel is can deal with a 150 Pages Document Full of pictures Quotes etc.
I can Outline, Import pictures all like the desktop Version.

But it is much Slower as the desktop version. I can Write with the Apple Keyboard and it Needs Time until the Letters appear. With a Bluetooth Keyboard it needs much more Time.
I think this will be fixed soon.
