Scrivener ist auf dem Mac ein sehr komplexes, flexibles und umfangreiches Programm. Daraus eine patente, voll kompatible, nicht überladene App zu stricken, die alles hat, was man braucht und dennoch bedienbar bleibt, ist eine Kunst und hier überaus gut gelungen.Man kann sicher über die ein oder andere GUI Entscheidung diskutieren, über die etwas undurchsichtige Navigation zwischen den Modi und Ansichten oder auch über fehlende Goodies wie eine WebDAV Anbindung (falls dem nicht die gleichen Argumente entgegen stehen wie bei iCloud und Google Drive). Auch fände ich einen potenten Markdown-Editor hilfreich. Wegen der Luft nach oben daher mal nur 4 Sterne.Aber eine so solide, professionelle und umfangreiche V1.x findet man selten, noch dazu ohne den langsam omnipräsenten Zwang zum Abo. Wer Scrivener eh schon am Rechner nutzt, erhält hier eine tolle Ergänzung für mobiles Schreiben in jeder Lebenslage. Selbst auf dem iPhone kann man seine Kreativität noch ausleben, wenn einem die Natur kommt... Der exzellente, schnelle und freundliche Support auf allen Kanälen (Blog, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Forum) tut sein übriges.

Ich nutze Scrivener mobile jetzt seit einem halben Jahr und bin nach anfänglichen Schwierigkeiten rundum zufrieden.Zunächst mal brauche ich vielen Schnickschnack, den auch einige Rezensenten fordern, nicht. Ich möchte schreiben und nicht mehr. Da bin ich OldSchool. Und das ist das Einzige das mir an dem Programm fehlt. Eine Art seitenbasiertes Schreiben, mit Führungslinien, auf dem ich sehen kann was auf einer Seite steht. Vielleicht hab ich auch nur die Möglichkeit noch nicht entdeckt. Synchronisation funktioniert bei mir mit einem kostenlosen Dropboxkonto tadellos, wobei ich mir eine ICloud Anbindung jedoch wünschen würde. Exportfunktionen sind okay, aber ausbaufähig. Ansonsten hab ich erst jetzt entdeckt ( Asche auf mein Haupt), das ich im Multitasking den Text einfach per Drag `n`Drop in Pages ziehen kann und dort lektorieren kann. Prima! Und das man nur einmal zahlt und dafür eine Menge bekommt, ist unschlagbar! Da können sich andere ihre Abo Modelle in die Haare schmieren. Scrivener ist für mich alternativlos!
Alles gut - ausser synchronisieren

Wie im Titel schon gesagt. Ich liebe Scrivener, aber das Thema Sync ist wirklich schlecht bis eigentlich gar nicht gelöst. Fängt schon damit an, dass Dropbox nur für drei Geräte kostenlos ist. Hat mich eine Nacht gekostet, rauszubekommen, dass deshalb der Sync einfach nicht funktioniert, denn eine aussagefähige Fehlermeldung wurde beim Verbinden mit Dropbox (als vierter Instanz) nicht ausgegeben. Dann das Gefummel mit den Ordnernamen. Ist mir alles zu altmodisch. Ausserdem, wenn der Sync abbricht, etwa in einem ICE der DB, dann ist ggf. das Projekt futsch. Dazu muss man wissen, dass jedes Mal viele Daten synchronisiert werden, die Fehleranfälligkeit also prinzipiell sehr hoch ist. Das ist alles nicht zeitgemäß.Wie ist das z.B. mit Ulysses so prima: Anmeldung und Synchronisation ist gelöst. Ich habe zu dem Thema die Dokumentation auf den Seiten des Herstellers gelesen und das alles überzeugt mich nicht. iCloud unterstütze nicht das Dateiformat bzw. Scrivener synchronisiert viele Dateien? Ja ok und was soll mir das sagen? Warum werden die Dateien nicht in ein Paketformat gesteckt, das dann einfach synchronisiert wird? Samt Backup und Prüfsummen und Verhinderung von gleichzeitiger Synchronisation? So jedenfalls ist die gerade gekaufte Mobilversion von Scrivener umsonst. Schade. Das Ganze macht übrigens auch die Desktop-Versionen fast unbrauchbar. Da rette ich mich immer noch mit händischer Kopie von Projekten übers WLAN... Aber zeitgemäß ist das auch nicht mehr.Bitte hier dringend nachbessern, sonst gehe ich komplett zu Ulysses. Das ist zwar im Abomodell, aber es funktioniert mit dem was es kann unglaublich gut.

Vorweg: Die App habe ich gekauft, weil mich die Tests der macOS-Version von selbiger schon halbwegs überzeugt hatten.Von Scrivener ist man entweder gleich begeistert oder abgeschreckt. Eigentlich bin ich immer noch begeistert, aber leider auch ein Stück weit ernüchtert. Die Vorstellung, Texte über Geräte- und Betriebssystemgrenzen hinweg mit einem konsistenten Tool strukturiert entwickeln und bearbeiten zu können, ist einfach zu verlockend und so war die iOS-App (in Ermangelung einer Testversion) die erste Schrivener-Version, die ich gekauft habe.Umso ernüchterter war ich, dass Scrivener nicht einfach auf das i(Pad)Os-Dateisystem zugreifen und mein im nextcloud-Ordner liegendes Projekt laden konnte! Windows und macOS können problemlos auf die selbst gehostete Cloud zugreifen, aber ausgerechnet die iOS-Version nicht? Ich werde dafür nicht meine Texte in die iCloud verfrachten – so viel ist mir die Privatsphäre wert.Ich betrachte das als Lehrgeld und werde künftig mit den macOS- und Windows-Versionen auskommen müssen.
