Ventux collapses everything the wind is doing across your line of fire into one number: the equivalent full-value crosswind, ready to enter in ChairGun or any ballistic solver. WIND STATIONS, NOT ONE GUESS Tap the radar map to drop a wind station anywhere between you and the target — at the muzzle, mid-range, near the berm, wherever you can actually see a flag, mirage, or moving grass. Drag the dot to reposition it, drag the arrowhead to set direction and speed in a single gesture. Add as many stations as the terrain calls for. ONE WEIGHTED NUMBER Not every station matters equally. A station near the muzzle affects the bullet less than one near the target. Ventux weights each station automatically: • Linear mode by default — weight falls off with distance from the target. • True time-of-flight mode once you load a bullet's BC and muzzle velocity — the weighting follows how long the bullet actually spends near each station, which is the physically correct way to do it. Opposing stations partially cancel, exactly like real wind does, and the EFFECT% readout shows how much of the raw wind speed is actually acting as crosswind. BRACKET THE GUSTS Wind doesn't hold still. Set a gust minimum and maximum on any station and Ventux shows the full result bracket — nominal, low, and high crosswind — plus the group-size spread that bracket costs you downrange, in cm, mil, and MOA. LAG AND HOLD, FROM YOUR OWN LOAD Load a bullet profile (BC G1 + muzzle velocity — a real .308 168gr preset is built in, or enter your own) and Ventux adds a LAG readout: the angular hold derived from your bullet's actual time-of-flight lag, in mil and MOA. A FIELD GUIDE THAT ACTUALLY GETS USED • Mirage lean and speed reference • Flag angle → wind speed estimator • Flora/vegetation movement chart (Beaufort-style, no instruments needed) • Density altitude — set HOME (where your DOPE was built) vs. CURRENT (today's range), and see ΔDA and whether your dope needs a rebuild • Thermal wind period reference for the time of day you're shooting • Wind clock and glossary SAVE THE RANGE, RECALL THE WIND Save a stage's full wind picture — every station, the target range, all of it — and reload it instantly next time you're back on that berm. Every solved shot can be logged too, with a timestamped history you can review later. Share any scenario or your whole wind log straight out of the app — to Messages, Notes, or AirDrop — for your spotter or your own records. BUILT FOR THE FIELD • Fully offline — no network connection, no account, no cloud sync. Everything lives on your device. • Three palette modes: Day, Night (red-shifted, keeps your eyes dark-adapted), and Sun (high-contrast for bright glare). • Metric throughout (m/s, m), with the option to switch wind speed to km/h. • One-handed gesture design — built for use in the field, not at a desk. Ventux doesn't replace your ballistic solver. It replaces the mental math you were doing before you got there.
