Quick answers, without the detour. You check the weather. You look up a phone number. You do a bit of math, or work out what time it is in another city. Small things — but each one means finding an app, waiting for it to open, then finding your way back to what you were doing. Widgets puts all of it in one layer. It appears over whatever you're working on, gives you what you need, and disappears. Nothing lives in your Dock. Nothing steals focus. Nothing interrupts. What's inside Weather — current conditions and the days ahead World clock — as many timezones as you need, side by side Address book — find a number or an email from your contacts in iCloud, without leaving what you're doing Calendar — what's next, at a glance, from your iCloud calendar events Calculator — for the math that isn't worth opening an app for Unit converter — measurements, currency, whatever you're working in Sticky notes — jot it down now, deal with it later Built to get out of the way Summon the layer, get your answer, dismiss it. The whole thing takes about two seconds. It doesn't sit on your screen permanently, doesn't drain your battery in the background, and doesn't ask you to change how you work.
