Write Csound code, press Apply and play it as an AUv3 instrument or effect in your favourite host. Parameters from your .csd become host-automatable controls. apeCsound brings the full power of Csound 7, one of the most complete sound synthesis and signal processing languages ever created, inside your music apps. Write or paste any Csound orchestra, press Apply, and apeCsound turns it into an Audio Unit (AUv3) instrument or effect you can play, record and automate in GarageBand, Logic Pro for iPad, AUM, Cubasis, Loopy Pro and any other AUv3 host. VoiceOver support apeCsound can now be used with VoiceOver: every control is named, menus are real menus, the code editor is an accessible text area, the XY pad announces both axes, and the whole interface works from the keyboard. Live coding Evaluate (Shift+Return) sends the selection, the instr block or the current line to the running engine without recompiling. The Evaluate line in the help bar runs one-liners such as "i 2 0 1". Channels panel Every channel the engine knows, with type, direction, value and who writes it. Channels the code reads and nobody writes are flagged: the usual reason for "it does not move". Map creates the parameter in one tap. Parameters - 64 toggle parameters (176 DAW parameters in all). - XY pad: two Float parameters as one two-dimensional card. - Monitor: channels written with chnset shown as meters, sparklines, multi-bar cards and text; chn_k attributes (db, spark, int, hidden, group:Name). - Snapshots menu stays open: tap to recall, pencil to overwrite, rename or delete. - Groups from Cabbage groupbox/plant containers; Option+click opens or closes all groups. - Host transport channels (HOST_BPM, IS_PLAYING...) as in Cabbage. Graphs Function tables are redrawn live when their content changes: a free oscilloscope. Import Cabbage buttons are imported, combobox defaults are right, and when a widget type exceeds its slots the indicators are dropped first so the buttons that matter get a slot. Fixes Parameters no longer stay at 0 after Apply; the console never hides errors; many examples updated for Csound 7 and six new test files.
