New: self-guided audio tours for 500,000+ places, AR split with the map and a redesign made for iPhone Duo. Put your phone away, look up, let every place tell its story.
You walk past a facade, a statue, a little square, and keep going. Yet every one of these places has a story to tell.
Around Us helps you discover the places around you, then gives you a second reading of them: their history, their anecdotes, their secrets. Wherever you are, around the corner or on the other side of the world, the city becomes a story.
▸ Discover what's around you
Open the map and millions of places appear, from must-see landmarks to hidden gems only locals know. Statues, viewpoints, charming lanes, historic cafés, parks, museums: filters help you find what suits you, and every place card gives you the essentials at a glance.
▸ Listen to the story of places
With the audio guide, put your phone away and look up. In one minute, a captivating narration tells you about the place in front of you: what happened there, who built it, the detail nobody notices. You no longer just walk by, you understand what you're looking at.
With Around Us+, more than 500,000 places have their own audio guide. Give your full attention to what you see, let the story carry you and leave with its secrets. Playback continues with the screen locked, and you can share it with your loved ones through SharePlay.
▸ Ask your travel assistant
"A nice brunch spot nearby?", "What to see in Lisbon in one day?": ask by text or by voice. The assistant suggests places, builds an itinerary and creates lists for you.
▸ Plan and live your itineraries
Choose your stops, organise your route on foot, by bike or by car, and fly over it in 3D before you even leave.
▸ See the world differently
In augmented reality, raise your phone: the places around you appear in their direction, with their distance. Perfect for finding your way and missing nothing.
▸ Save and share your discoveries
Save your favourites, build your collections (a street art walk in Berlin, the most beautiful viewpoints in Rome) and get inspired by other travellers' ones. Read their reviews, add your own, share your photos and reveal your own hidden gems.
▸ A community of curious minds
Around Us grows every day thanks to a community of passionate travellers. Follow those who inspire you, contribute and help others explore differently, away from tourist traps.
▸ Everywhere with you
On iPhone, iPad and Mac, Around Us is with you from planning your trip to the corner of your street.
▸ Around Us+
An optional subscription to go further: audio guides, travel assistant, augmented reality, premium filters, unlimited itineraries and collectible souvenir medals. The essentials of Around Us remain free.
Download Around Us and let curiosity guide your steps. Every place has a story: listen to it.

Around Us 7 is here: our biggest update yet.
▸ Made for iPhone Duo
Around Us takes full advantage of both screens. Closed, the outer screen keeps everything at hand. Open, the inner screen lays out the map and the place you are reading side by side, and every fold is seamless.
▸ Audio guides
Put your phone away and look up. With Around Us+, more than 500,000 places now have their own audio guide: a captivating minute about what stands in front of you. Playback continues with the screen locked, and you can share it with SharePlay.
▸ AR, split with the map
Hold up your phone: the places around you appear in their direction, while a map beside the camera shows where they are and how far. On iPhone Duo, simply half-fold the device to split the view.
▸ Photo frame
Close your iPhone Duo and set it down in landscape: it turns into a photo frame that lets you discover remarkable places, one picture at a time.
▸ A redesigned experience
The map now fills the whole screen for a more immersive journey. Places open alongside it, navigation is simpler and everything is closer at hand, on iPhone, iPad and Mac.
Thank you for exploring with us. Every place has a story: listen to it.
