New EarMaster 7.5 update with tons of new features and fixes, among which: * User Presets - save your own customized exercise configurations for later use. * The notation editor has been completely reworked, allowing for a workflow that is closer to popular notation software. * Multi-voice dictation: In Melodic and Rhythmic dictation, you can now have multiple "evaluated" voices. This enables you to create exercises where the task could be to transcribe by ear the soprano and bass voices of a choral, or maybe all 5 voices of a quintet. * The first and last bars of questions based on scores can now be trimmed. Previously, you had to include the entirety of the selected bars, which could yield unwanted results. * The score viewer and the score question selection editor have been completely redesigned. * The staff toolbar can now show both notes and rests at the same time when there is enough screen space. * The staff toolbar now floats near the content of the staff, allowing for much faster note input and much less mouse travel. * In dictation exercises, a new play cursor enables you to specify where you would like the playback to start from. This makes it possible to listen to parts of a melody. A rewind button has also been added, making it possible to quickly move the cursor back to the beginning of the score. * When evaluating answers to dictation exercises, the correct and wrong answers are now grouped together for better clarity. * In dictation exercises, you can now solo a voice to hear it isolated from the other voices or the accompanying chords. * You can now specify how many bars of count-in you would like to have. Previously, you would always have a single count-in bar. * Rhythmic Dictation exercises can now include accompaniment voices. * In Melody Singback and Rhythm Clapback exercises, you can now choose whether the count-in bars should be played only before the questions, or both before the questions and before your answer. Also, if you have enabled the "Continuous call-response" mode, you also have the option to play the count-in only once, before the first question of a call-response streak. * "Always show staff" is a new customized exercise setup option for singback and clapback exercises. Enabling this option will display the notes of the question on the staff before you begin to answer. When that option is enabled, the exercise becomes a sight-reading exercise where you also hear the notes of the question before performing it. * "New key for each question" is a new exercise setup option in all exercises where you can select a key. When enabled (default), EarMaster works like you are used to. But when the option is disabled, EarMaster will pick a key once at the beginning of the exercise according to your settings, and then stay in that key for the rest of the exercise. If you repeat the exercise and you have selected multiple keys in your exercise setup, then EarMaster will pick a different key and stick to it for the rest of the exercise. * The Tonic chord of the key is shown permanently on the staff as a reference * You can click on the tonic chord in the staff to hear the tonic cue (keynotes, tonic chord, cadence, degrees 1 2 3 4 5, etc.) again. * The "First tone" of a question is now shown permanently next to the clef, and no longer as a temporary gray tone.
