You can transfer and save photos and videos you have already taken, and use your smartphone as a remote control for the camera for remote shooting. Photos and videos taken can be transferred to cloud storage or a smartphone for centralized management. Data transfer can be performed while shooting or while the camera is turned off or charging. One thing I really struggle when I transfer my pictures. I have an option to either transfer the pictures either at 61MP (~40MB file for each photo) or a 2MP equivalent which feels like a thumbnail. Why not make something in between let’s say about 10-12 MP where the pictures can be sharp and each picture is 6-8 MB. Is that very difficult to do?

Good app overall and handy for remote shooting + long exposures. The only issue I have noticed is that the app does not run in the background once it is minimized. This means that if you receive a call or a text your long exposures will fail.

How can a company like Sony in the year 2026 make such a bad app? I mean do you deliberately try to make the life of the users miserable?

Works, but if you don’t open the app before taking pictures, it will not connect automatically and your photos will not have location added.
