Look up words, create flashcards, and review with FSRS on iPhone and iPad.
Look up words, create flashcards, and review them in one flow.
FlashDict is a dictionary and flashcard app designed for iPhone and iPad.
It helps you look up word definitions and turn the meanings you actually want to remember into reviewable flashcards, making it useful for reading, studying, and daily vocabulary building.
Multiple Dictionaries
Import external MDX dictionaries and open Apple’s built-in dictionaries when available. View definitions, examples, and usage notes from different sources in one place.
Meaning-Based Flashcards
Create flashcards from a specific meaning in the current dictionary entry. Instead of saving only the word, FlashDict helps you remember the exact sense you needed at the time, which is especially useful for words with multiple meanings.
FSRS-6 Review Algorithm
The flashcard system is inspired by Anki and uses the FSRS-6 algorithm to schedule reviews based on memory patterns, helping you review more efficiently.
iCloud Sync
Flashcards can sync across your devices with iCloud, so you can keep learning on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. Your data is stored locally with privacy in mind.
Pronunciation Support
FlashDict prioritizes dictionary-provided audio. When no audio is available, it can fall back to system text-to-speech.
Lookup History
Your lookup history is saved automatically, making it easy to revisit recent words.
Optimized Reading Experience
Dictionary entries are optimized for iPhone and iPad, with clear structure and comfortable reading for longer content.
Native and Lightweight
Built with SwiftUI for a native, lightweight, and efficient experience.
