HOW TO PLAY • Trace a word across bubbles that touch — diagonals count. • Lift your finger and the letters fly down into the word’s slots. • Everything above them falls into the gap, so the board keeps changing under you. • Clear every word on the list to finish. • Every board can be finished. If no word is left to trace, the letters lay themselves out again and your stars are safe. STARS, NOT TIMERS Three stars for a board you clear on your own, fewer if you shuffle or take a hint. Nothing is timed, there are no lives to run out, and a board you leave half-done is waiting where you left it. TODAY’S BOARD A new board arrives at midnight — the same one for everyone playing in your word language. Clear it to keep your streak going. Beside it sits the master board, five long words on a deep stack, hosted by Glöd. Miss a day and a streak freeze covers it, if you have one. 400 LEVELS An adventure that winds upward through eight worlds: forest edge, meadow, beach, open sea, tropical island, desert, mountain and summit. Boards grow from a single short word to five long ones on a deep stack, and every tenth level ends in a chest. EVENTS Midweek Dash, Weekend Sprint, Word Marathon and Star Rush come round every week or every month: a run of boards, a few days to play them, and hints when you finish. NINE LANGUAGES English (UK, US and Australian), Swedish, Danish, Dutch, German, Spanish and French. Each has its own dictionary, so each has its own daily board. The menus and the words are separate settings — read the app in English and play the boards in Spanish if you like. HINTS Two kinds: reveal the start of a word, or show a whole word for a moment. New players start with three. After that you earn them — today’s goals, the first clear of today’s board and of the master board, events, level chests, every fifth bonus word you spot, and the 30- and 100-day streak milestones. INKWELL PLUS An optional subscription, monthly or yearly: • 5 hints every day • No ads • The whole daily archive, not just the last seven days • Up to 2 streak freezes a month HINT PACKS Packs of 5, 20 and 60 hints are one-off purchases, for when you want more straight away.
