Boarding Now: TuneTransit v1.7.2 - Bug Fixes and Improvements! Hello again! We are back (very shortly after our last bug fix update) to bring an even better experience to our riders, no matter what streaming platform they originate from. Even through the dreary weather of winter, we are committed to focusing on what we can do to make TuneTransit run optimally. While this may be another bug fix update, we have been able to deliver several bug fixes and improvements that make this one pretty crucial, so we recommend installing this one ASAP! Changes in this update range from continuing to improve our search engine to delivering several fixes to new features that debuted in Version 1.7. This update contains the following bug fixes and improvements: Improvements: - When bringing a Spotify or Apple Music playlist into TuneTransit, selecting tracks on those lists will now show results to Tidal and YouTube Music as well. (Before this update, it only showed Apple Music and Spotify) - When using TuneTransit for the first time, users will now go through an onboarding screen to make sure that 'Media & Apple Music' is checked in Settings to ensure full feature compatibility in TuneTransit. - Our Now Playing logic for Spotify and Tidal has been refactored to deliver better accuracy and performance. - TuneTransit's database logic has been modified to reduce the number of calls made to our backend, which may result in improved battery life and performance. Now that the holiday rush has passed, we are back to work in delivering the best TuneTransit experience possible for our riders. Since our most recent major release (Version 1.7), we have been continuing to improve the app behind the scenes. In this update, we are introducing a new feature alongside a few bug fixes: Promos! With this feature, you will be able to redeem any sort of limited time promos that we send out, whether it is on our social media channels (website, Instagram) or via notification, through entering a code directly in the Settings tab. In the last few updates, we've cleaned our stations and polished the TuneTransit rails... but while we like doing what we can in the moment, we also strive to make even more impactful upgrades on the ride as well. Think of this update as maintaining the experience you know and love, but making it extremely more smooth and efficient! For our latest major update, our focus was about enhancing and improving the app that we have built through all of its iterations since this summer. The first thing you may notice is our performance boost for TuneTransit searches -- because it's A LOT faster! These sorts of upgrades make TuneTransit that much more seamless and enjoyable to use on a daily basis. This update serves primarily as a bug fix and improvement update for our users that utilize YouTube Music and Tidal. As we have been working on our next major update, we have identified some improvements that could be made in our overall engine -- so we figured, why wait? This update contains the following bug fixes and improvements: Improvements: - For tracks that do not exist on YouTube Music but have 'Official Audio' on YouTube, we have provided those results labeled separately in our Find Music results. As a result of these changes, all users may notice a slight performance boost when it comes to how fast TuneTransit completes searches. This update contains the following bug fixes and improvements: Improvements: - TuneTransit's app screenshots on the App Store have gotten a glow up! - Profiles have been leveled up with a redesigned setup page that will automatically display the next time you open the music feed. - TuneTransit widget text has been optimized for all devices. - Apple Music background tracking for the music feed has been reengineered to utilize our backend for improved performance and reliability. - Feed refreshes have been optimized to only take place automatically when the app opens. Otherwise, the feed can now be refreshed by selecting the Refresh icon or sliding the feed down from the top. With this update, we knew that we needed to ramp up efficiency, improve performance, and deliver features that make TuneTransit different than its competitors. This app was designed to optimize and empower users to share music in the moment, and with this release, we wanted to take that experience to the next level. By releasing our new Music Feed, redesigning our widgets to make searches much faster, and improving the overall experience of our core engine through performance upgrades, TuneTransit levels up in a big way!(And yes, it even skips Version 1.4 in the process) This update contains the following new features, bug fixes, and improvements: New Features: - TuneTransit has a new tab.... and it's called the Music Feed! While it clearly needs a better name [that we are workshopping as we speak], we created a new experience that allows you to add your friends and view the music that they have been listening to, regardless of where they listen. This feature is right off the production line, so please provide any feedback and expect continued improvements past this initial release! (Available for TuneTransit Premium users on Apple Music, Spotify, and Tidal) - TuneTransit Widgets aren't just looking a bit different... they are re-engineered from the inside out! In addition to our initial Apple Music support, these widgets now also support Spotify and Tidal users as well, AND can be added to the lock screen to make searches even faster. Several improvements have been made to how these work in the background, so definitely take them for a test drive! (Available for TuneTransit Premium users on Apple Music, Spotify, and Tidal) - Speaking of performance... we got plenty of updates there too! From implementing Natural Language support into our TuneTransit AI functionality to removing inefficient processes, we can confidently say that you can find your songs and albums that much more effectively across all supported platforms. (More on these improvements below) Improvements: - Natural Language support in our TuneTransit AI functionality makes finding music even more accurate, regardless of which streaming platform you use/are looking for. - The Nearby Sharing functionality has been removed from TuneTransit for the time being, which has lead to several performance and stability improvements across the board. - Tidal and YouTube Music searches have been made more reliable. - For major updates, we have introduced a What's New showcase that will break down all of the major new changes in each update. - Our Home tab has undergone a slight polish to improve readability and enhance the app experience. - TuneTransit onboarding has been redesigned to better introduce new users to the TuneTransit family. Bug Fixes: - We fixed a bug where there was no Tidal result for some tracks due to fallback searches not taking place for Tidal. - We fixed a bug where YouTube Music searches for tracks with more than one artist would not return an acceptable result. - We fixed a rare situation where our TuneTransit AI engine would not initialize for Tidal searches and create poor search results. - The TuneTransit widget now tracks Apple Music better than it did before with improved quality and status checks. - The Last.fm setup screen has been modified to include a Connect button to prevent connection attempts before the full username is entered. - Several other bug fixes were made across the app and backend to improve the app experience. Additionally, due to unavailability of API solutions for all supported platforms, this version removes the TuneTransit Playlists feature for the time being. Since releasing support for Tidal and YouTube Music, we have been monitoring user reports and making it even easier to ride the TuneTransit rails with continued updates. While this may be the third update this week to fix bugs and improve performance, it contains a reward for our dedicated users -- support for Shortcuts! This update contains the following new features, bug fixes, and improvements: - New Feature: Introducing Shortcuts support! With this update, we have released our first action for Shortcuts called "Convert Link". This allows you to input a link into the action from an Apple Shortcut and immediately bring you into TuneTransit to deliver the results. As with other new features like initial Messages support and our Now Playing widget, please note that this is a work in progress and subject to change in future updates! - Improvement: Sharing songs and links from YouTube Music is now more reliable and accurate. - Improvement: Matching songs to Tidal from other music platforms is now more accurate. - Bug Fix: The "Share with other apps" option in YouTube Music now provides the right media to search in TuneTransit. NOTE: Version 1.3.2 has been released to fix a rare scenario for new users where TuneTransit is not able to communicate with our backend services, which was causing some users to see a Daily Limit error when searching for tracks in TuneTransit. Of course, we may have gotten carried away... and not only optimized the app for iOS 26, but also improved performance across the board for all TuneTransit users AND created our first widget! With our first widget, you can add TuneTransit directly to your home screen and when you're playing music on Apple Music, clicking the widget will bring you right into the Find Music tab with the song loaded right in. Support has been added initially for Apple Music, but we are working on enhancing this feature for more music platforms in the future! - New Feature: Introducing iOS 26 support! With this update, we have made a few modifications to how certain pages load, and have also introduced a new navigation bar for users running iOS 26. Now Boarding: TuneTransit v1.2 - the second major update to TuneTransit! This isn't your average local update; this one's an express! We've been working hard in the station to bring you some major upgrades to how you share and discover music with your friends, no matter what platform you are on. This update is jam-packed with these new features, improvements, and bug fixes: New Features: - Introducing Smart Links! Sharing any song or album in TuneTransit now provides a custom URL (share.tunetransit.app) that you can share with your friends -- complete with the ability to open it in Spotify, Apple Music, or even TuneTransit itself. - Introducing TuneTransit Playlists! You can now create TuneTransit playlists in the app that are derived from TuneTransit searches and organize their favorite songs. In fact, you can even send them to other TuneTransit members via text! (Available for TuneTransit Premium users) - Introducing Story Cards! With Story Cards, you can create an export of the song to share on other social media, such as directly to Instagram Stories. These exports also come with QR codes that navigate to the TuneTransit share links also introduced in this update. (Available for TuneTransit Premium users) - Introducing Last.fm support! With this support, all TuneTransit users can now accurately sync their currently playing song on Spotify to TuneTransit. Upon updating to this version, if Spotify is installed, all users will see a new screen asking for streaming service preference and an onboarding for enabling this functionality. This AI functionality exists entirely behind the scenes, but it has allowed for even more accuracy when it comes to matching songs, albums, and even YouTube videos. Confidence is key with TuneTransit, and this feature helps ensure that in your musical adventures. - New Feature: Manual searches are now possible in TuneTransit! This new functionality on the Transfer tab allows you to manually enter the song title that you're looking for (along with the artist if desired) to allow TuneTransit to search for the music that you'd like to share/transfer.
