Idagio, a classical-music-only streaming service with millions of tracks from major and indie labels, makes finding and discovering music you love a joy.

Want to listen to Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 but not sure where to start? Search “Beethoven 9” in the Idagio app and it will suggest the full title of the work: “Symphony No. 9 in D minor op. 125 Choral.” Sort the seemingly endless list of recordings by release date or popularity.

The app also lets you search by title, composer, soloist, conductor, ensemble and more. A query for “Simone Dinnerstein English Suites” brings up the pianist’s 2011 recording of Bach’s work with all seven movements in a single playlist.

The Discover section is full of insight and surprises. Composer Essentials playlists, for example, delve into the works of Messiaen and Monk, as well as more obscure composers. Or tap over to the Moods tab to let Idagio build a playlist around a vibe, like Gentle, Passionate or Angry.

You can listen to Idagio’s radio mode for free. The Premium subscription gives you on-demand access to the full catalogue, while a Premium+ subscription unlocks uncompressed, CD-quality audio (which sounds glorious). The app is compatible with CarPlay. And with an Apple Watch running the latest OS, you can stream Idagio from your wrist directly to your AirPods or HomePod.
