coolAltitude has been completely reworked using the lates available technology. iPad versions now supports portrait and landscape orientations including split view over another app. Overall stability has been significantly improved. App now supports dark mode, which can be triggered regardless of the system settings to make night approaches more comfortable.

Modification of the height over the runway threshold used for profile calculation is enabled. coolAltitude can now calculate altitude corrections for MSA and Go Around altitudes.

SNOWTAM decoding from METAR information has been added. It can also now transform friction coefficients reported in SNOWTAM to braking actions based on ICAO scale and Normative/CIS scale respectively. coolAltitude can recommend possible BA based on runway contaminant reported in SNOWTAM combined with reported airport temperature. This feature is experimental and if used it must always be crosschecked with valid QRH/FCOM approved by the operator. The contaminant must be verified by ATIS. coolAltitude can be used in real operation if the operator did receive an approval from corresponding DGCA/CAA authority. coolAltitude must be in that case part of authorized software in operator’s EFB package.
