A friend is going to Lisbon. They ask for recommendations. You start digging through WhatsApp threads, Google Maps saves, old Notes, and half-remembered Instagram reels, rebuilding a list you've already made three times before.
Or maybe it's simpler than that. You just want one place to keep track of the restaurants, bars, and hidden spots you love in your own city — so you stop forgetting them and start sharing them.
Doko gives your places a home.
Save the spots you've been to, the ones friends told you about, the places you stumbled on and want to remember. Add your own notes — the personal context that makes a recommendation worth something. Organise them into collections by city, trip, or however you think.
How it works:
- Save places you've loved, places friends recommended, places you want to try
- Add personal notes: "order the cacio e pepe", "go at sunset", "cash only"
- Organise into collections by city, trip, or however makes sense to you
- Capture from any app using the share extension (Safari, Instagram, Maps...)
- See all your collections on a globe view
- Share a collection as a PDF when someone asks for your recommendations
What makes Doko different:
Your notes are the whole point. Google Maps can save a pin, but Doko saves what you actually know about a place — the dish to order, the street to walk down, the bar your friend won't find on TripAdvisor. That personal knowledge is what people really want when they ask for recommendations.

Doko is built by one person — a product designer who kept losing good recommendations in group chats and screenshot folders. No ads, no data selling, no corporate agenda. Just a useful app I actually use myself.
Free to use. Doko is free with up to 3 collections. If you want unlimited collections, there's an optional subscription to support development.
