Group movies by date, not genre

The redesign misses on Coming Soon and Now Playing. Both are organized by genre now, so anything I’m looking for is buried in whichever category it lands under, and since most films fit several genres, the same title repeats across the list. Scrolling through it, I’m seeing duplicates instead of new information, and it takes time to see what’s actually releasing this week. Genre grouping makes even less sense for Now Playing, where the list is short enough to read straight through and the whole point is a quick look at what’s in theaters. Both sections answer time questions: what can I see now, what’s coming next and when. Grouping by date would match that, and it would kill the duplication too, since a movie only has one release date. Everything else in the update works fine. These two screens are the problem.

We’ve improved how movie information loads across Apollo, making it more reliable to browse films and showtimes. We’ve also refined parts of the app’s appearance and addressed issues that could cause unexpected crashes. This update also includes visual improvements and several bug fixes.
