Mapivo keeps the trip you actually took, not only the one you planned.
OPEN ON YOUR OWN MAP
Home is your own footprint map. It marks every place you have written from and counts your footprints, cities and countries, with your next trip and your most recent records underneath. You can browse it and start writing without an account; Mapivo asks you to sign in only when you save to the cloud.
LEAVE A POSTCARD WHERE YOU STOOD
Write up to 500 characters about the place you are in and pin it to those coordinates, with up to 3 photos. Every postcard starts private, so it reads like your own diary unless you choose to share it. Shared postcards show up for travellers within about 50 km of the spot.
What you type is kept on your device as you go. Close the app, lose signal, or take a call, and the words are still there, along with the photos that already finished uploading.
ADD THE TRIPS THAT ALREADY HAPPENED
Choose photos from your own library and Mapivo reads the date and the place baked into the file, then asks you to confirm before it applies either. Correct them by hand if the camera was wrong.
TURN YOUR TRIPS INTO ONE CARD
Travel memories collects what you wrote by city, month or year, builds a card from your map, a first photo and your totals, and hands it to the share sheet when you decide it is worth sending.
NEARBY AND EXPLORING
Explore gathers the travellers around you right now, shared postcards, featured itineraries and people heading where you are heading. Matchmaking surfaces people whose dates overlap yours, and you can start or join a group plan and message before anyone arrives.
PLAN IT, THEN KEEP THE MONEY HONEST
Name a destination, pick 1 to 14 days, a travel style and a budget level, and Mapivo drafts the day-by-day plan in English, Chinese, Japanese or Korean. Reorder a day's stops, remove one, or have just that one redrawn without losing the rest. Open any stop in Apple Maps, and see an on-foot distance and time for the day with the matched place names listed so you can check them. Short on time? A weekend half-day preset plans a coffee-and-a-walk loop nearby.
Then the ledger handles the unglamorous part: record which person paid what, split it equally per head, watch a per-person budget, tick a packing checklist, and get a rough cost estimate before you leave. The estimate leaves lodging out on purpose and says so, because a hotel is not a per-day number.
WRITE TO YOUR FUTURE SELF
Seal a time capsule that opens again after 1 month to 1 year, or the next time you stand on that same spot (100 metres by default), or both.
PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
Sign in with Apple and you are in: no phone number, and no password to invent. Text that you choose to share is screened before it reaches anyone else. Anything you do not like can be reported or blocked in a tap, and everyone you blocked stays listed in Settings so you can undo it later. Optional anonymous usage statistics are off by default, and the events never carry your text, your location or your account.
Mapivo is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases. It speaks English and Simplified Chinese.

Ratings & Reviews
- This app has not received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
Home is now your own footprint map: footprints, cities and countries, your next trip and your latest records on one screen. You can browse and draft without an account, and sign in only when you save.
- Add trips that already happened from your photo library: Mapivo reads the date and place stored in the photo, then asks you to confirm before anything is applied.
- Travel memory cards collect your records by city, month or year and hand a finished card to the share sheet.
