22Blues works on the places you actually go: a café, a co-working space, somewhere with something on tonight. Each of those places has its own wall in the app, and you can only see it while you're standing there. No searching, no browsing, no list of places to scroll. Where you are is what you see.
THE WALL OF THE PLACE YOU'RE IN
Everyone standing in the same place sees the same wall. It's the noticeboard of the room: what the people around you are thinking, seeing and saying right now. Pin something to it, a line or a photo. Comment on a post, react to it, reply to a comment. Put your name on it, or don't.
A PROMPT, SO NOBODY STARTS COLD
At the top of the wall there is always one prompt for everyone in the place, with a countdown: "Post a photo of something you can see right now." "What did you come here to forget tonight?" When the countdown runs out, a new one takes its place. Answer it, ignore it, or post your own thing. It's there so nobody has to think of something to say.
THE PEOPLE WHO ARE ACTUALLY HERE
Tap the faces at the top of the wall to see who has been around: one person at a time, nearest first, swipe to move on. A first name, an age range, a line they wrote, what they posted. If they're in the same place as you right now, it says so. Nobody ever sees your exact location or how far away you are.
A CHAT THAT ENDS ON ITS OWN
Someone you'd like to talk to? Send one line. They have 30 minutes to answer. If they do, you can chat for three hours. Then it's gone, every word of it, on both sides. No read receipts, no history. It's enough to say "I'm the one by the window." Anything more, say it in person.
WHAT'S BUILT IN
• 18+ only. Name and birth year are set once; others only ever see an age range.
• When you leave, you fade from the place on your own. Nothing follows you home.
• Block anyone in one tap. Report anything; a person reviews every report.
• No matching, no likes on people, no profile to polish, no feed of strangers from across the city.
• Sign in with email or with Apple.
WHY
Every place has people in it, and most of us walk past them. 22Blues gives the place you're in a shared wall, a shared prompt and a short fuse, so the person at the next table stops being a stranger. Not a dating app. A way to meet the people already in the same place as you, and to take it from the screen to the table.
