Looom (yes, it has three Os) won a 2020 Apple Design Award for pioneering a bold and playful new approach to hand-drawn animation on iPad, accessible enough for anyone to create and enjoy. Starting with a clean canvas, Looom invites you to just start drawing unimpeded by intimidating toolsets or menus. A single touch of the display then captures your first frame. Draw again, capture, and hit play—you’ve created your first looping animation.
Great fun app for quick animation - but the couple of features urgently needed!
This app is a fun way for making a quick animation; even teaching animation for my kid was quite easy and straightforward.
However there are a couple features that may greatly improve the app and make me a more frequent user:
1. Ability to copy/duplicate to following frames (Fundamental !)
2. A degree of pen smoothing
3. Lasso tool (to move, position, and resize)
4. Ability to use various colors on the same weave (though admittedly, that may defeat the purpose of simplicity in the app).
