PanicVault is a secure, offline-first password manager that reads and writes the open KeePass (.kdbx) format. Store your vault on your device, on iCloud Drive, or on Google Drive -- you choose. Your data stays in a standard, portable file that works with KeePass, KeePassXC, Strongbox, and every other compatible app.

PanicVault gives you real ownership of your credentials. There is no proprietary cloud, no account to create, and no subscription fee. Your vault is a single encrypted file you can back up, move, or open in any KeePass-compatible app on any platform.

Open and save vaults created by KeePass, KeePassXC, KeePassDX, Strongbox, and more. Entry history, custom fields, attachments, group hierarchy, custom icons, and recycle bin are fully supported.
- iCloud Drive & Google Drive Sync
Sync your vault across iPhone, iPad, and Mac through iCloud Drive or Google Drive. Smart entry-level merging preserves changes from every device. Conflicts are shown side by side so you pick the version you want. Sign in to multiple Google accounts and sync different vaults with different accounts.
- Passkeys (WebAuthn)
Store and manage passkeys alongside your passwords. Compatible with the KeePassXC passkey format for full cross-platform interoperability.
- AutoFill Integration
Fill usernames and passwords in Safari and apps with the system AutoFill credential provider. Override URLs let you match entries to sites with different login domains.
- Built-in Authenticator (TOTP)
Generate two-factor authentication codes right alongside your passwords. Scan a QR code or enter the secret manually. Compatible with all standard TOTP formats.
- Password & Passphrase Generator
Create strong random passwords or memorable passphrases from the EFF wordlist. A live strength meter shows you exactly how secure each password is.
- Biometric Unlock
Unlock with Face ID or Touch ID. Your master password is stored in the Secure Enclave keychain -- never transmitted anywhere.
- Yubikey unlock
You can protect a vault with a physical YubiKey: YubiKey challenge-response over NFC on iPhone, and over USB on Mac.
- Offline First
Every feature works without an internet connection. Cloud sync is optional and happens only when you choose to enable it.

SECURITY:
PanicVault uses AES-256 or ChaCha20 encryption with Argon2d/Argon2id key derivation. Clipboard auto-clear, configurable lock timeout, and periodic master password re-entry keep your data safe even if your device is left unattended.

This update is about keeping every change when your vault syncs, whether it lives in iCloud Drive, on Google Drive, or in a folder you sync yourself.
- For a vault in a folder synced by another tool (Syncthing, Dropbox, your own SSH or rsync setup) or open in KeePassXC on the same Mac, PanicVault now merges outside changes instead of overwriting them
- For a vault in iCloud Drive, saving now merges changes from your other devices instead of overwriting them
- In both cases, if the same entry changed in two places, both versions are saved at once, so nothing is lost while you choose which to keep
- Wherever your vault is stored, syncing no longer loses an entry that was edited, added or moved into a group deleted on another device or in another app, and keeps it where that device or app has it, or in the nearest remaining group
- When iCloud keeps two copies of a vault, merging them no longer deletes new entries from either device, an entry moved on one device and edited on the other stays in the group it was moved to, and a copy that doesn't open with your password is now reported instead of silently skipped
- On Google Drive, a change still waiting for Drive when you lock the vault is no longer overwritten by your next save, and is now kept on your device, encrypted, until it reaches Drive, even if PanicVault is closed or the device restarts
- If Google Drive refuses such a change because the file was deleted, your storage is full or PanicVault is no longer allowed to change the file, PanicVault now says why and tries again later, and the Sync button tries again right away
- On Google Drive, a conflict choice is no longer applied over a newer copy
- Creating a vault no longer replaces an existing vault file with the same name
- Warnings that something was not saved, not applied or failed now stay on screen long enough to read, a later message waits its turn instead of replacing them, and VoiceOver reads out every message as it appears
- On Mac, Settings is now in the PanicVault menu (Cmd+,), even with a vault unlocked
- On Mac, the Password Generator and Help now have a Done button
- On Mac, Touch ID works on the first try when you open a vault
