Get more from every lesson. Rewritten Foundations and grammar quizzes challenge you to apply what you’ve learned: choose the right form, understand sentences in context, and recognize important differences. Clearer answer explanations help you understand why an answer works. We’ve also smoothed out check-ins and reviews, improved answer and Continue controls, and added a compact Home Screen widget to keep vocabulary close at hand. Kanji First now respects your existing progress and skips duplicate kana-reading cards for the same vocabulary.

Turn words you’ve seen into words you know. Open any learned word from your collection as a flashcard, test your recall, tap for the full dictionary entry, then swipe to keep reviewing. Version 3.2 also brings tougher typed and practical check-ins, a quick quiz when you mark a word Seen Again, clearer sync and audio-loading status, and a kana-first path that introduces kanji at the right time.

Japanese Foundations now follows a clearer path from kana sounds to reading words and building first sentences. Kana Drill has been redesigned with smoother navigation, consistent lesson styling, and better support for blended sounds. The All Lessons hub is now fully unlocked.
