Your submitted records now upload on their own, and you can reset your password from the sign-in screen. - Submitting a record starts its upload right away when your phone has a connection. If you are offline, it waits and goes up the next time you open the app with a connection. You no longer have to remember to sync. - The sync icon at the top shows an amber dot for as long as anything is still waiting to upload, so you can tell at a glance whether your day's work has left the phone. - In your records list, a submitted record shows an upload icon instead of a checkmark. Submitted means queued; only Synced means it reached the platform. Tapping the sync icon or pulling the list down still uploads on demand. - Forgot your password? The sign-in screen now has a link for it. Type your email, tap the link, and a reset email arrives. Set the new password in your phone's browser, then come back and sign in. Workspaces that sign in through their own company login do not see this link, because there is no FieldScroll password to reset. - Leaving a form saves your work the same way whether you press the back button, swipe back, or use your phone's back gesture. Before, the swipe and gesture paths could drop edits made since the last auto-save. - If a save cannot be written because the phone is out of storage, the app tells you and keeps you in the form instead of closing it and losing the edits. - A formula or a show-and-hide rule that points at a field the form no longer has now shows an error on that field instead of quietly computing nothing. Form builders are warned about these before they publish. Nothing you have already submitted is changed by this update.

Bigger text, bigger buttons, and a repeating section that asks before it removes a row. Most of this release comes from field users testing the app on their own phones. - Text throughout the app is bigger, and it now follows your phone's own text-size setting. If the app has been hard to read, raise the text size in your phone's settings and the app will follow. Error messages and helper text were the smallest text in the app, which was backwards — they are the same size as everything else now. - Removing a row from a repeating section always asks first. Before, a row you had just added could be deleted with no question, and the remove control sat right next to the collapse control and was too small to aim at. Both controls are now full size. - A repeating section has one Add button, in the same place in its header however many rows you have. Done closes the row and brings the section back into view instead of leaving you below it. - A closed multi-select lists what you picked instead of saying "3 selected", so you can check a filled form without opening every field. - Option lists open at the size of what is in them. A five-option list used to open tall enough for four. Short lists no longer show a search box they do not need. - The keyboard gets out of the way when you open a list, a lookup, a date, or the scanner. On iPhone, number pads now have a Done button. - The forms screen remembers whether you chose grid or list, which groups you collapsed, and how your lists are sorted. Record filters are not remembered on purpose, so you never come back to a screen quietly hiding your work. - Selected answers and buttons no longer look alike. A selected choice is a lighter blue with dark text; buttons keep the solid fill. - Date fields can open a spinner instead of a calendar when the form is set up that way. It is faster for birth dates, expiry dates, and anything far from today. Nothing you have already submitted is changed by this update.

Long lookup lists no longer stop short, and required questions are checked in places they were being skipped. - Picking from a long list works properly. Lists used to stop at the first 100 rows with nothing to tell you there were more. Now the list keeps loading as you scroll, and a line at the top says how many rows you are seeing out of how many match. - Required lookups and required repeating sections are now checked before you submit. Marking them required had no effect before, so a form could be sent with nothing chosen and no rows added. - Required questions inside a repeating section's rows are checked too. The list of problems names the row, so you know which one to open, and a closed row shows a count of what is missing. - A form with a faulty visibility rule no longer breaks as a whole. Only the questions caught in the rule are affected, and the app names them instead of reporting the form as broken. It also fixes questions your organization meant to keep off the screen appearing anyway. - Forms can now start a question with a value already filled in, hold a value without showing you the question, and show a calculated answer only once it has something in it. - Photos taken with the phone held upright are no longer stored larger than they need to be. A photo taken that way used to be saved about a third bigger than the same shot taken sideways, which made it slower to upload on a weak signal. A photo that is already small is now left alone instead of being stretched. - The page bar shows how much is left to fill in. Each page shows how many required questions on it are still empty, so you can see where to go before you try to submit. After a failed submit it switches to the red count of what is wrong, as before. Records you have already submitted are unchanged. If a form starts stopping you on a question that used to let you through, that question was always marked required — it just was not being checked. Tell your administrator if it should not be.

You can now open a form by scanning a QR code. - Point your phone at a code on a machine, a vehicle, or a door, and the app opens straight to the right form. No scrolling the Forms list to find it. - A code can fill in answers before you start, such as the make and model of the equipment in front of you, so there is less to type. - A code can also name one specific site or piece of equipment from your organization's reference data. Scanning it fills in every detail about that item at once. - Scanning works with no signal, as long as the form has synced to your phone at least once. - If you are signed out when you scan, sign in and the form opens on its own. You do not have to scan again. - If a code cannot be used, the app says why: it belongs to a different organization, the form has not synced yet, or the equipment details could not be found on your phone. Your administrator creates and prints these codes. Forms you fill in the usual way are unchanged, and every scan starts a new entry rather than reopening an old one.

This update fixes form logic that depends on a calculated value. - Fields set to show or hide based on a value the form looks up or calculates now work. Before this update, those fields stayed in whatever state they had when the form opened, which usually meant hidden. On long forms this could leave whole pages looking blank. - A calculated field that is hidden no longer reports a validation error you cannot see or clear. Previously a form could show an error marker on a page with nothing visibly wrong on it. No change is needed to your forms. Open a form again and the logic runs correctly. Records you already submitted are unchanged.

This update fixes a problem with the previous release on iPhone and iPad. Version 0.1.23, released on August 1, was built to connect to our test servers instead of the live service. The Android version was not affected. If you use FieldScroll on an iPhone or iPad and updated on or after August 1: - The app connects to the live service again. Install this update and sign in as usual. - You will be asked to sign in once after updating. That is expected. - Work you entered while the app was pointed at the test servers stayed there and does not carry over. If you filled out a form during that window and it is missing now, it did not reach your organization. Send it again. Nothing that was already in your organization was changed or lost, on either platform. We are sorry for the disruption. We have changed how releases are built so that a test version cannot reach the App Store or Play Store again.

This update adds pages to forms. When a form is built in sections, you now move between them with a bar of buttons pinned above the form, instead of scrolling through everything at once. - A form built in sections shows a bar of buttons across the top. Tap one to jump to that section. - The bar scrolls sideways when a form has more sections than fit across the screen. A form that keeps everything on one page shows no bar and reads as a single long form. - If you try to submit with something missing or wrong, the bar marks the sections that have a problem with a count and takes you to the first one, so you do not have to hunt for the field to fix. - The Contents list groups its entries by section and marks the one you are on. - A section inside a repeating row can carry its own bar of buttons when the row opens on its own screen. - Forms and their sections can now show a much wider choice of icons, so the buttons are easier to tell apart at a glance.

This update makes form changes painless in the field: every record opens under the right version of its form, and nothing you captured is lost or misread when a form is updated. - Records now open under the right version of a form. Older records that fit the newest version open under it and work like any other record. - A record that does not fit the newest version opens under the form it was captured with, and a banner explains why. - Drafts move up to the newest compatible version of their form when you open them, so you always fill the latest form. - If a choice was removed from a list after you answered, your saved answer still shows, marked as no longer offered. It stays valid until you change it — then only the current choices appear.

This update adds dispatched records: work sent back to you from the office. - A dispatcher can now check an existing record out to you. It arrives on your next sync with all of its photos and attachments already downloaded, so you can open and edit it with no connection. - A dispatched record shows a banner with the due date and any notes from the dispatcher. Edit it like any draft — auto-save works the same — and press Submit to send it back. - If the office takes a record back before you submit, the app tells you it was recalled. Your copy stays on the device as read-only so you can still see it, but it will not upload. - The Records screen has new filters for Dispatched and Revoked, so checked-out work and recalled copies are easy to find. - Number fields can now show a set format as you fill them in and in repeating-section row summaries: thousands separators, acurrency amount, or a percent sign. Your form designer chooses the format for each field, and the stored value does not change. - Fixed a case where a field inside a repeating section that appears or hides based on an earlier answer in the form did not always update. It now re-checks and updates correctly.

What's New in 0.1.17 This update makes long forms easier to work through and gives you a way to fix a submission before it uploads. - Repeating sections can now open in their own screen instead of expanding in place, with Add and Done buttons at the bottom. Your form designer chooses which layout each section uses. - Submitted a record too soon? If it has not uploaded yet, tap Unlock to edit on the record to move it back to a draft, make your fix, and submit again. - Form calculations can now use a row's position and the row count inside a repeating section, so forms can number entries and check totals automatically.

Collections Forms are now grouped into collections on the forms screen. Tap a group to expand or collapse it, so a long list stays easy to scan. Test forms before you publish You can now open a draft form on your device and fill it in to check how it behaves, without publishing it to your team first. API field Forms can include a field that looks up data from an outside system. Tap the button in the field to fetch the latest value while you work. Reliability and sync - Auto-save no longer drops a change made while an earlier save is still in progress. - Sync is safer to run more than once at the same time. - Formulas that depend on other formulas now calculate in the right order. - Fixed a rare case where a record could be saved with a duplicate ID.
