The UK Immigration: ID Check app lets you confirm your identity online when: • applying for a visa • updating your personal details on your UKVI account • setting up access to your online immigration status (eVisa) Before you start You must follow the steps in the online application form, account update or eVisa form before using the app. You will need to be in a well-lit area, so you can take a good quality photograph of yourself. You need to use: • an iPhone 8 or newer • iOS 16 or later If you are applying for a visa If you use this app when you apply for a visa, you will not have to attend an appointment to confirm your identity. You can use this app if you are: • an EU, European Economic Area (EEA) or Swiss citizen • a British national (overseas) visa (BNO) applicant with a BNO or Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR) passport • a graduate visa applicant with a UK biometric residence permit (BRP) You will need either: • a passport that has a chip (also called a ‘biometric passport’) • a biometric residence permit (BRP) If you’re applying for a graduate visa and are not from the EU, European Economic Area (EEA) or a Swiss citizen, you must use your BRP. If you use a BRP, it must not have expired more than 18 months ago. If you are setting up access to your eVisa You will need either a biometric residence permit (BRP) or a passport. If you use a BRP, it must not have expired more than 18 months ago. If you are updating the personal details on your UKVI account You will need a passport or other identity document with your new details. Your document must have a biometric chip. What happens next The app only helps confirm your identity. You must still complete the rest of your application. We will tell you how to do this when you finish using the app. Privacy and security The app is safe and secure. Your personal information will not be stored in the app or on the phone when you finish using it. For information on staying safe online please visit the UK Cyber Aware website. Head bal
The app keeps on crashing every time she reads the passport chip. Very convenient. And, as the number of try is limited, I now am fear to keep on the process. Just to make sure : I am on iPhone XR and up to date. Which means this app should not be available on the App Store as it is : un functional Thanks

I have been unable to have a student visa for several month now. The reason ? The 5th biggest world economy can’t figure out what any crypto exchange plateform has been using for years now.... A 2 fact auth shouldn be that complicated, it should just work and in this cas it desont

Does not allow us to try more than 3 times and we must wait 24 hours ? How silly is that ? The app is not even functional when I try to scan my passport.
