LIMS is powerful business management software for the timber and wood products industries. It combines the features of a log or timber accounting system with support for silviculture, wood procurement, contractor payables, vendor and contract management, log and wood products inventory, sales and consumption, business planning, querying, reporting, and accounting.
LIMS has proven its capabilities at over 500 sites in North America. Companies from single mills to big names in the forestry industry are using Trimble software every day.
With LIMS, you can configure the system to work the way your company works, and then easily add new business activities without additional programming. For example, if you decide to start trading logs or fiber from a mill that previously only consumed wood, you simply add the customer and your contract and accounting rules, and start entering transactions. The features are already in the system, without additional programming.
At Trimble, we keep the end user in mind throughout the software development process. We understand the challenges our customer face during the learning process. As a result, LIMS was specifically designed to be user-friendly software. A familiar, Windows-based graphical user interface (GUI) makes training a breeze.
LIMS can handle multiple operations with different business practices and rules that vary from coastal to interior, province to province, state to state, northern to southern, and even multiple languages.
LIMS is highly scalable. With a central database design, our clients can combine all divisions in one central reporting system at the corporate headquarters. Alternatively, each division's woodlands, timberlands or mill operations can be independent from all the others, each with its own database if preferred.
With Trimble's approach, geographic boundaries do not stand in the way of applying LIMS across an entire firm. The more people in a corporation use Trimble software, the bigger the benefits of integration in terms of efficiency and productivity.
