Really beautiful

This is a well thought out and beautiful piece of creative software. Everyone should have this on their iPad. I’ve not had any stability problems running on an iPad 2017 and everything seems to work. The print outs are perfect and create lovely designs ready to hang on the wall. Best of all, it integrates with the original Spirograph so it’s easy to explore how to create certain shapes. Thank you for creating this software, it’s so well done. I would encourage further enhancements as per your website if you have time. It’s a labour of love I know as I can see this isn’t going to be a huge money making app but hopefully the joy you have given through design will make it all the more worth wild.

Developer Response ,

Thank you so much for your kind words. :-)
The app is indeed a labour of love, and over the past many months, most of our efforts have been directed at rewriting the entire app in a new programming language. This unfortunately did not give any new features, but with the rewrite, the code base is now more manageable - and now I find that I have more energy for adding stuff.
Release 4.3.0 added the ability to run gears around other gears.
The next feature we are working on is a long 'stick' to run gears around - and after that I think the oval gear shape might be next. :-)
Sincerely,
/morten

Awesome

I had a spirograph many years ago... I remember the frustration of getting everything perfect...(gears would slip out of place just when I was about to finish a masterpiece) and the set I had was devoid of pins, but used a rubbish clip mechanism to secure the paper....

This is a fantastic version of the old toy, great fun, versatile and easy...much, much easier. I cant say I bought an iPad to sit and draw spirals with, but it's definitely one of the more entertaining apps I've bought.

Of course... When you've found a great app, you want more... And thats not to say there isnt enough here, but im loving this app and i hope theres more to come:

- More gears for a start (I think my set had 15) and not just circular, but perhaps the odd shaped ones that existed, there were oval shaped gears and triangular shaped ones...and there were also odd shaped rulers too...not to mention my old favourite the straight one which had gears on the outside.

- The ability to zoom on the paper...

- different coloured paper, black with a white pen would be cool.

- a little help tab just to explain gestures... ^_^

Great little app, worth getting

Delightful and it doesn't wear out the 'paper'

I loved my Spirograph (™!) when I was a kid back in the 70s and would spend ages creating all these colourful designs. Trouble was, going over and over the same spot would often cut through the paper and mess up the design. Überdoodle gives the benefits of the design without wrecking 'paper' underneath. Not only that but it can draw it round dozens of times in a flash to get the design done. And it doesn't run out of ink!

You can move the different sized rings and wheels where you like, choose a pen and draw. Save all the doodles too. Lots of simple fun and lovingly implemented.
