Description
National clinical guidelines recommend a therapy known as cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) for people who have experienced psychosis. To help increase access to helpful strategies, we developed Actissist to give people who have experienced psychosis access to cognitive behavioural tips and strategies in the flow of their daily life.
The Actissist app has been tested in two clinical trials with over 200 people who have experienced a first episode of psychosis. With support from the Medical Research Council, we are releasing the Actissist app for general use for people who have experienced psychosis.
Please note that you should only use Actissist when recommended to do so by a medical professional. Clinicians do not have access to the app or your responses/data. Using the Actissist app should not replace any support you may be receiving from a clinical team.
Actissist provides you with access to a number of features, including:
• Goal setting and reminders
• A toolkit of factsheets and media
• Daily questionnaire to monitor how you’re feeling
• A daily diary
• Recovery videos
• Mindfulness and relaxation exercises
• Links to helpful websites
Actissist is provided by the University of Manchester as a standalone application and does not send any of your data to any party – all data remains on the device. If you uninstall the application, your data will be lost and you will need to re-install the application to use again.
