Incredible fun, but the UI needs work

This is honestly one of the best games I have installed just from the sheer variety of what you can do. The AI will often impress you with the stories it comes up with (though equally you will sometimes get some incoherent messes), and you have the freedom to really take the lead or just sit back and let the AI do the work for you.

The only thing that lets this app down is the UI. The UI is very difficult to use. If I am typing, I cannot see the writing above (not the end of the world; there are buttons there after all), but once I start typing I can't hide my keyboard again. Dragging down from the top of the screen let's me look at the most recent text, but if I release my finger it either springs the keyboard back up or closes the adventure. Funnily, when you send a response to the AI, the keyboard occludes the response, so you can't see what happens without doing the aforementioned useless drag. We need some user-friendly way of being able to hide the keyboard. An intermediate solution I've found is to disable predictive text on my phone's keyboard so that there's enough space to tap the story text (which hides the keyboard), but this isn't really idea.

A tragic tale

My very first adventure was filled with adventure and mystery. I started as a squire and fell in love with Theo, the knight I was serving. Then he went missing and I had to find him. I learned he had been killed by some orcs so I killed them. I then I became a hermit living in the woods but Theo returned. We got married and while we were trying to adopt a child at an orphanage, we met my sister, Marigold and learned that my parents had been killed by assassins! We took Marigold home only to find that the assassins were after her too. I killed them but found Theo dead. After some investigation, I discovered that Marigold killed him with a magic ring. She brought Theo back from the dead as a zombie so I drowned her in a lake but was knocked out and when I came to I had been captured by Drakon the necromancer. Turns out my sister worked for him and that’s why the assassins were after her. Drakon was behind everything! I escaped and went looking for Drakon. I found him alone by a campfire which I threw him into and burned him to death. With Theo, my parents and my evil sister dead, I hanged myself, Game over.

This game is great, every adventure is different. You do sometimes have to infer parts of the story but all events and people can be created by the AI and you can be anyone you want in the world that it creates. It can also get pretty random which can aid the story or be bizarre at times. Either way I love it.

The conqueror

I started off as a knight and was in charge of a city. I gathered my knight friends and plotted to stage a coup to take over the kingdom. We marched to the King and executed him whilst the people watched and cheered. My first act as king was to attack France. I laid siege to Orleans and sent a letter to the French King asking for his surrender twice. As there was no reply both times, I flattened the city with my trebuchets and moved on to Paris. Again he ignored my letter and so I demanded to meet him. A messenger from the city rode out to meet me and I found out that the king had died from an illness. I was crowned king of France and I quickly moved on to attack the Germans. I met their army on an open field and started the battle with my siege weapons and archers. Me and my cavalry hit the enemy infantry with rear attacks and they finally retreated. I tricked the German king into giving me his throne and immediately executed him. I now moved on to Poland, where not a single soldier opposed me and they were annexed. I gathered and armada and sailed for America, colonising it and building my palace there. I died happily and was remembered for thousands of years to come. This game is great and I very much recommend it.
