Bees in your garden
My daughter and I had a fabulous time with Tim who is so very knowledgeable about bees and bee keeping . The group of six all thoroughly enjoyed it and left feeling we have to get some bees. First we had a drink with super refreshments as we learned some of the basics about bees. Then we got dressed up in all the necessary cover ups and went to the hives and were able to hold a frame full bees and honey and were all able to have a go. All this time Tim was giving us so much information about the different hives and breeds of bees who are such wonderful insects. Fortunately we had just finished when a downpour occurred so derobed and went in for more refreshments and drinks and were able to see how the honey was extracted and learn all about the propolis and bees wax. We all had a most fascinating morning and left with some delicious honey still in its comb.
Have tried to book two different times with two different hosts. Firstly they are allowed to accept 6 months in advance, take half of the total expense and then cancel 2 weeks away from the actual date. Two separate occasions and the same thing was allowed to happen, there are no consequences other than putting a group of people out of, not even the cheapest, but a reasonably priced and decent looking place to stay. There was no reason for the cancellation and they just said ‘we’re sorry for the inconvenience, the money will be refunded to your account’.
If the money had been put into the hosts account then is there reason to believe this is a scam for some? Just another way of getting a loan with no intention of actually have people stay in the house? I have no doubt there are plenty of legit hosts doing well but how can airbnb allow people with atleast 6 months notice run down and cancel a very busy area at the time we booked, 2 weeks from the event? The next best thing is for nearly £200pp and a £80 taxi so hopefully you understand my frustrations.
Anyways, not sure if Airbnb are just allowing this but just be weary of this as it’s happened twice within the space of 2 months. Had to go for the traditional hotel route as it’s much safer but just wanted to add this for new people, all the best if you go with this app, not sure what can actually be done.
