Quality reporting and analysis, quality app

I’ll start by acknowledging that Al Jazeera is part funded by the government of Qatar, which, let’s face it, is an authoritarian petro-state. But then these oil monarchs do like to perform some democratic flourishes to attract trade and investment, and mask their brutality. And so this is how Al Jazeera has walked a path, and sensible journalists and analysts have been able to do their thing there.

I’ve been an on and off reader for a decade, and it’s been consistently more balanced than any mainstream European or American news publisher. The major media outlets in the imperial core spend 90% of their words either fawning for our asset-management/hedge-fund feudal overlords, or else trying to diversify their audience and cling to relevance by accommodating the far right. And this is just as true for the supposedly liberal papers like the NYT and Guardian.

The bull**** is much lower at Al Jazeera, and with much deeper analysis and context, you’ll be able to see more clearly for yourself, rather than being spoonfed context-free, unquestioning institutional propaganda.

Add on to this that the Al Jazeera app is genuinely really good, allowing you to skim the news and deep dive when you want to, and you’ve got yourself probably the best news app available… or at least the least sycophantic and compromised.

Justice, impossible, but peace is possible

Israel disregards international law, and in brief, we’re back to a playground mentality with a bigger boy wins. Mankind has made no progress back to the days of Genghis Khan. The bigger army wins, they have lost their humanity. Palestinian prisoners/hostages because that’s what they really are. Just cause. You have a nice glitzy piece of paper to say you have a justice system doesn’t mean it is a justice system. to add some balance one can only guess what it would be like, if the Palestinians had the biggest army One thing that scares me, the most most news agencies are not reporting in a balanced way, in fact, extremely biased towards the state of Israel. They could argue what they’re saying is correct that I would tell them to their face. They are lying by omission. I hope you can help. Why is that thank you for listening.

Thank you for your coverage of Gaza - living in England, if I didn’t have access to your news channel, I would not have obtained a full picture of the Israeli occupation of West Bank and settler violence towards Palestinians, nor seen the impact or extent of the indiscriminate destruction of Gaza and its people. Whilst the vicious Hamas attacks on Israel on 7th October continue to be well covered here in England, unfortunately the press shows little of what the Palestinians suffer in the West Bank, even more so since 7th October. Only by watching your news, do I manage to obtain a rounded picture of the very sad situation between Israel and the Palestinian people.
I also enjoy your coverage of news from other countries that England doesn’t cover, so my global outlook improves. Thank you .
